Question Customs- Seized, not seized?

I've been waiting on a order to arrive and was taking longer than it normal, checked the tracking and it said delivered on the 28th, it obviously wasn't!!. Called parcelfroce, they said they didn't know why the tracking had said delivered but it was with customs awaiting clearence. Checked again a few hours later to see if they had taken down the 'Delivered' part, it wasn't but instead the date of 'delivery' had changed to the 27th, a day earlier than it had been just a few hours ago.

Called them back again the following day to which they then told me the item had been seized and to call UKBA on-02476212870. Called them and was then told they had no record of it and to call parcelforce back.

Called Parcelforce back, was again told it had been seized but this time they said they didn't give that number out anymore and the correct procedure is to go to HMRC and look for Notice 143 and then make an enquiry.

Notice 143

how should i proceed here? the tracking shows as follows..

Status:
Delivered
:

Parcel tracks Date Time Location Tracking Event
27-10-2011 12:02 International Hub Forwarded for UK processing
27-10-2011 12:02 International Hub Handed to Customs
23-10-2011 22:24 International Hub Received in destination country
22-10-2011 13:34 SINGAPORE S02 Forwarded for export
22-10-2011 12:34 Delivery Agent - SINGAPORE Collected from customer
  • Overall it shows as delivered (its not), but the actual place to place tracking shows otherwise.
  • Parcelforce say seized
  • UKBA say they have no record of it

To further add to the problems, its from dhgate so showing as delivered when god knows where it is' leaving me with a headache!!. Any idea whats going on here?

when i have had goods seized in the past i found that the tracking on royal mail said delivered.

I also found if it was sent by ems that it normally said delivered on there too however it would state the post code it had been delivered too if it had been delivered to customs the post code was that of the international hub in coventry

Once you get concrete confirmation that it was seized, show said info to the seller and see what they will do. If they don't do anything, call your CC company and fight the charge. You will piss off the seller, but 99% of the time you get your money back.

Check ems and check ems hong kong or some other chinese delivery carriers maybe the seller sent it some other way and is stupid. If not then fight the charge with your credit card as a dispute and explain well.

Sounds like it could have been seized. Maybe because the contents were on their "no no" list. Lately this has been happening a lot with cell phones of ALL makes and models and sneakers. May I ask what it was? A safer, but SLOWER option to use next time is registered mail. Hope you had some sort of escrow or you might be screwed!

Your package may have been lost. Even it is not easy to ask for any shipping charge from the shipping company, but you can ask your supplier to force the shipping agent to get some shipping cost back as many shipping agent will offer this service .

Electronics, items were seized in the end guess they were just busy this time of year and were slow processing everything. Recieved cash back, so worked out ok!

thanks for the replies

handed to customs with the status "delivered" means that your goods are seized

good that you got a refund

did you get it all back?

how did you pay the supplier?
