Activity: 0% Longevity: 77% | | So how do people run multi million £ eBay businesses...
Hi guys,
This may have already been a thread on these forums but I could not find an answer. You see all these eBay success stories with people using eBay full time for a massive income, driving Ferrari's from being on eBay for 'x' amount of years...
We all sit here on this forum saying weve been limited, can never use paypal again but how are people making all this money thrugh eBay as massive worldwide sellers and not having the same problems...?
What are they doing that we are not...

they build some type of credibility.....either thru who they know, or an existing real-world business and supply chain.

The point I was making was that they are using PayPal just as much as we are but they dont end up coming on here moaning they no longer have an account... interesting!

After the 1st limitation, and if a person decided to go stealth with the book, there's little need to moan. Moaning is negative imo.
Better mind set is to beat ebay. Works for me every day.

Good point, will have to get involved in the eBay Stealth. Very new to all this and would like to get back onto eBay selling high volume, do you have to build up to selling in volume if you go stealth or within 1 month can you be back at it ?

Cue moaning if you do it that way.
To have long term success, you go slowly, create solid foundations with an account.
Once you read a lot more you'll develop a better picture of a working approach.

Not at all complicated - time consuming...depends if you think time is worth investing into understanding how eb/pp will suspend linked accounts.

They even have their own specialized department for these sellers. They get treated very well. I've even seen massive sellers with piss poor feedback/rating and all is still well
They live in bigger houses, and they also live in a different eBay universe then we do... They dont live by the rules we do you can bank on that

I don't turn over millions but I do turn over lots - both as a seller and as an agent.
There is one thing that guarantees to help you on your way.
Be professional.
By that I mean ALWAYS act in a business like manner.
List accurately
Send out quickly
Communicate with your buyers
Be fair and accept the occassional kicking
All the things you would have to do if you were a legitimate bricks & mortar business.
Don't sell foo-foo. You may wish to believe that your customer is going to be happy getting a foo-foo item because it's a few bucks cheaper but that's just your view - your customer thinks they are getting the real thing!
Communicate with Ebay and Paypal. I have found that if you play their game they will help you. They are in business to make money and they make money from you making money. Sometimes, because of their dogmatic and unrealistic way of doing things they get it wrong. That's why this forum exists. We try to find work arounds when the Ebay system goes Kaput.
Grow steadily - don't suddenly explode onto the scene - prove you are sustainable.
Care about feedback
Care about DSRs
Care about your customers

Thats good advice for myself really. GrannyT - is it a full time job for you? You shipping lots of goods per day?
The only thing I get concerned about as such is taking fair amounts of money and getting limited!
GrannyT - if you are full time do you have a limit on the number of items you can sell per month?

GrannyT - if you are full time do you have a limit on the number of items you can sell per month? | Kind of full time - I help run a farm with my other half - I do the paperwork and anything that needs doing - I'm the fire brigade if we run out of hands.
I got limited recently - took a few days - now it's all good
I have no limits and sell over 6 accounts
(plus one new one started yesterday for a new client that will go 'live' next week)

Granny T - Are all your accounts stealth? How long did it take you to build up each account to sell with no limits?

You got limited on a stealth account for making too much money?
Also to have an account with no limits.. would cost a fair bit surely?
