Question What advantage is there to shutting off sellers accounts??

I am baffled why or for what reason or how it benifits GREEDbaY to shut down sellers accounts? Are they not losing money? I mean what is the point? Where is the advantage? I am certainly not going to pay off my account(s) that they shut down and won't re-open. I can only imagine that most never pay off their account(s) after it(they) is(are) shut down and it is obvious it(they) will not be reinstated.

I realize they are booting off some bad, scamming type sellers and that is wonderful but if someone like myself who had been selling flawlessly for years, never had been suspended in all those years plus had a 98.7% feedback with Over 1300 Positives feedbacks and I was treated as if I just started the day before. I mean WTF???

Welcome to the agony that is involved in associating with ebay. Whether you
are a seller and even a Power seller or a buyer with little problems, you are there only to be trampled upon at their whim.
I gather you know exactly what compassion means? That is a swear word to
ebay. To really depress yourself read the ebayhateluv story under ebay and Paypal horror stories.
That is one enlightening story.
Bottom line and this is not personal from me, you do not count with ebay because there is always another victim waiting to be screwed.

It's true, you would have thought they are loosing a lot of revenue potential.
But they have to be VERY strict with proecting the IP of IP owners, as it could get them involved in all kinds of legal issues.

But for things such as linking accounts... it's beyond me. I guess their sign up rate is so vast, it doesn't make a difference to them.

98.7% -- I think ebay considers that low feedback now.

I read somewhere that ebay said their main goal was to get as many new members as they can. I guess that means shutting down long term sellers and turning them into new sellers so they can have the control.

No advantage, it's just a bad system that's getting worse.

Sometimes losing a little money can give someone a lot of sexual satisfaction. That's how eBay works when they suspend an account. Instead of paying a hooker the $100, they rather have $100 less in seller fees and get off on it, too.

Doesn't eBay have stockholders? Are not stockholder pretty much only interested in MONEY? How can ebay hide the fact the sellers that they shut down are not paying their fees? Which means less money and less buyers, from the stockholders eyes?? I realize the stock value has fallen and continues to fall as of this date and might mean something or it might not.

For some reason when I try to think logically about larger concepts than myself I can not seem to predict what would seem to be logical.

For instance, If you saw the behavior of greed in a local business or a person, you know they would not last but when it come to Large industries it seems to continue to thrive? Oil, Electricity, Governments, eBay....etc etc.

What makes the difference? Is it just they have so many interested bodies all involved that it's strength is in numbers rather than if it were one entity?

I just can not understand how ebay benifits from shutting off sellers who have significant selling history? If I buy something I always look at the sellers history and feedback before I look a the price. If it seems to good to be true I hesitate. My chances of bidding are lower if the history is not so good. This would means less chance the seller will make a sale. Less fees for ebay to collect on meaning less money. This also would seem to tell the seller they are not making enough money at selling so they stop selling.

But then again maybe it is like gambling addictions? The more the seller is not selling, the lower they are willing to drop their price to make the sale and/or continue to get further in debt with listing fee's just trying to sell their item thinking they will make it up later on a bigger sale?? And so eBay makes their money on the multiple tries and the higher FVF when the items finally sales?

There has to be some means to the madness no matter what. You don't just get as larger a GREEDbaY and not have a strategic plan even though it seems there is not one.
