Default Opinions please!

What is the best alternative to paypal if I can't get a new paypal account? I have over a year of built up yard sale items, but don't want to sell them for less than what I should be able to get for them. So what do you think would be the best service to offer without losing out on money for not taking paypal? My feedback is close to a 50, but I took it really slow for because I don't want to make any mistakes.

Also, would it be a problem if I used my mom or brothers account. My mom lives in the same state about 2 hours from me and my brother lives in a different state about 1 hour 45 minutes from me.

Is it a problem if I use an auction service site to do scheduled listings? I only want to eventually list around 40-50 items a week.

Stores - are they good and do they work?

I would greatly appreciate anyone's advice.

Askpin or Modee- I would value your opinion very much here.

I am only talking second hand used items, but could definately bring myself in an extra $300-$500 week. That is really all I am trying to do.

CPUGEEK pointed out he found a Paypal alternative. He say's it working great, read this thread for more info.

As far as using your mom's or brother's account, you can use them but if you access them from your computer make sure you delete your cookies and IP address to link your accounts together. It would be better if you used their accounts from their locations, but I can see that could be a hassle. Just make sure you IP is changed and cookies are deleted and you should be okay.

And alot of people use Auctiva with no problems for listing.

And stores are great, they can save you money if you know how to use them right, tons of money. I like the middle store.

Good luck!

Thanks Askpin - your site RULES!!!

Can I put my real name on the merchant account? Will ebay see it and link it? I assume ebay allows this merhant account? Do you think I will get lower ending price by taking a merchant account instead of paypal?

Thanks again.

You will have to put your real name and all real information for the merchant account as this is the only way they will give it to you. For merchant accounts they check you credit report as an individual as well as any company information that you provide. Merchant accounts are great as you canuse them all over the place not just on Ebay. I have a merchant account with cardservice international (First Data) and besides Ebay I use it to collect payments at flea markets and even when I have a garage sale.

hey yeah with the merchant account, they really don't care too much about your credit, but you will have to use real name and ss#.
But it works well with auctiva, I never ever log into my ebay account because I can do everything from auctiva..

. Auctiva can only see the authorize.net login and that's it. The people on my merchant account they communicate with you (unlike paypal).

So ebay won't suspend me for using my real name. Should I only use the account through auctiva. Thanks everyone for the advice.
