Default USPS Post office pickup??? good idea?

Hi,

I ship almost everyday with USPS. It takes a lot of work to bring all the shipment to the post office.

I am considering having them come and pick it up.

May I ask if it is safe? Can I trust the driver?

I cannot afford to lose the whole shipment. In case, the driver takes some package, I have no proof.

Please share your experience if you have use USPS pick up.

Thanks

I used to, but now I just print my labels and leave my stuff out for the mailman to pick up. But I only leave a few at a time and they fit in the mailbox. If I have more I drop them off in one of those blue drop boxes. But its safe to schedule a pick up ive done it before...but they do get pissed if you schedule something and then you end up already shipping them out...

i have a pick-up just about every day, but like lizardking said make sure you actually have the stuff waiting for them when they show up. also the usps does not scan your item when they receive it. it usually does not get scanned until it reaches the post office of of your buyer. i have called and complained, but they tell me it is not a tracking number. it is just a delivery confirmation number. even though the usps website says tracking number. the only way you can have that package enter their computer system right away is if you pat for the postage at the counter. i have had a lot of ticked off customers because they can't track where their package is. i hate the post office as much as i hate ebay and paypal.

thanks for responding.

Do you have any case where you lose a package during the pickup process?

i have had only package not get delivered to the buyer, and that was out of probably 15,000 packages. so i guess they are pretty careful with the orders.
