Thumbs up My personal laundry list of Dos and Don'ts

Here are ways that will get u suspended if u aint careful guys:
And, take it easy the first month on a new account!!

Using your same name or address like before

Using the same suspended paypal account

Listing too many items the first month too fast

Selling too much of the same item

Using the same pictures from the past

Using the same ip address

using your old turbo lister

copy and pasting your auctions

Copying other peoples auctions

selling in the wrong catagory

charging high shipping prices

Changing your registration info alot

Using 3 days auctions

using the same phone number from the past

selling vero items

selling illegal items

not paying fees on times

having too many paypal accounts on one computer

buying 1 cent ebooks to build feedback

bidding on items and not paying for em

Some gift cards will get u suspended

not cleaning your cache and cookies first

dont make your auctions too long or too many pictures

dont over use the border or highlight feature too much

dont open ebays email, they could have beacons in em

be careful when selling high end electronics your first week

dont sell expensive diamond rings or real expensive items first week

dont harrass the customers no matter what

ship there items on time and fast

be careful when using paypal, they will limit your account and freeze your cash!!

and dont tell anybody about u sneaking back into ebay, they could turn u in!

:Get a merchant account to accept credit cards; CCNOW is a good one:

:Remeber to have back up accounts in case u do get suspended:

:If you do u get paypal, get it vertified beofore u sell anything

good advise...and something newbies should take a look at

when shipping items wait the few extra days to let the money clear into your bank account if they paid w/ Paypal...this will help when you do get limited...and you will at some point...probably when you least expect it..

I'm not so sure about the above.
I've used all from day 1, and still do, and have lasted longer than a month.
I presume by border you mean listing designer?
If not then strike that one off.

The turbo lister is only if you used it on a suspended account, then didn't delete it and your cookies, then used it again on a new account...

3 Day auctions are debatable, not a good idea, but not necessarily going to get you booted...

I don't see a problem using border or highlight...should be fine doing this..

HI:
(Sorry-- I am ALWAYS the oddball)...

I Like the list.
I follow it, and have most of these items written down, and have been sited /taken down for ABUSE for any or ALL of these things,,
Sorry
)
(maybe its because I am over cautious/ over paranoid??

**During many of my "experiments", I have been "abused" for too many pics--why? casue a newbie wouldnt have 14 pics, only 1
**The using of the added features, abusing,,,why? newbies dont do that// they DONT know how..
**the 3 day auctions, i get abused.. only 7 (the default).

Just my opinon.. (I know Im crazy... )

I do find the list to be "over cautious" some of that stuff falls under common knowledge like "bidding on items and not paying for em"..

Not bad, I agree with Modee on some things.

I think my list is pretty good: http://www.aspkin.com/forums/faq-ind...how-avoid.html

the copying and pasting auctions i think is a good one not to do. you would have to be turned in by a customer or another seller. then when an actual t&s guy looks at you more closely you'll get nailed. same thing for the pics. and i thought the ebay emails were still uncertain if you can get linked by opening them?

Yeah if you copy the pic and verbage exactly you can get nailed...ive turned in a couple sellers for copying my listing EXACTLY...if you copy and paste just parts your ok...and I also think the email thing is inconclusive..

My personal Laundry list of Do's & Don'ts

-Do Forget about logic - Logic as to why I am limited/suspended
-Do Use Ccnow
-Don't ship out an item till the money is cleared (not pending) in my bank
-Don't list for 30days
-Do Make a new account every month
-Do Pay fees as I go in small amounts
-Do Print shipping labels before I withdraw
-Do enter tracking numbers if Merchant Account is used
-Do Turn off auto checkout – In sellers preferences
-Do Be friendly to customers. Send them notifications for every step of the transaction directly from my email address. “Make” friends with them (You might need their help and trust later)
-Don't jump sales quickly
-Do spread out listings on different accounts (when needed)
-Do have a President and Vice President account, Until that President account is assassinated, the Vice President account takes over. A trustworthy account with growing FB and DSR showing the most potential longevity takes over as Vice
-Don't be afraid to spend time logged into my account
-Do record my IP and account switching in DETAIL
-Do answer if they call (could actually keep your account going longer)
-Don't be rude to any employee on the phone
-Do get their name and employee number
-Do move on quickly
-Don't send in ⊗⊗⊗⊗ docs (Personal choice)
-Do always use real info for Merchant Account and Bank Account.

Maybe i'll edit it later if I think of some other things..

Yeah fees are a little much...ive bumped shipping and handling up to compensate a little..Ive found it difficult to get people to pay with say Google Checkout or something..Its the Paypal curse they seem fine as long as they can use their precious PP. I figure its better than having hundreds of dollars frozen..

You forgot the most important one, don't brush your teeth in the morning. Every time my eBay account was suspended I brushed my teeth 5 minutes before.
