Default Withdrawing money through a family member - how should I do it?

My PayPal account is in Israel (obviously) and the best way to withdraw money from it is to a US bank account for several reasons: withdrawing money to my own bank count would mean I have to use paypal's conversion fee, and if there is a large transfer to my bank account from abroad the IRS will know about it.

My father is a resident in the USA - he has a bank account as well as a paypal account, he suggested that I simply send the money to his paypal account - would this fly with paypal? Or am I just better off asking to withdraw the money to this bank account?

I've sent mass payments before to my Chinese supplier for $800 and so without any problem.

It can be risky to just send the PayPal funds to your Dad's PayPal... It's possible to get both accounts shut down. DO NOT add your Dad's bank account to your PayPal if he has it on his already. Your best bet is to ask your Dad to open a 2nd/new bank account that you can add to your PayPal for withdrawals. PayPal can't see names on bank accounts, just acct# and routing#.

Very risky - it depends how much your family will fall out with you IF it goes wrong

I think he has several bank accounts, so I can ask for the one that's not linked to his paypal.

I also think it would be a good idea to call paypal here and ask for advice - or to let them know I plan to withdraw money using my dad's bank account. This is not a stealth account but an account with my real info, it has no open disputes in it and I am not planning to empty it out. There is nothing fishy going on here.

You are better off doing your OWN withdrawal. Not only will you potentially link your father's account but you give PP ANOTHER 2.9% cut of the funds so...you lose again. Exchange rate sucks but better off with the straight withdrawal. /end

Withdrawing to my own bank account might get me in trouble with the IRS, I would rather be in trouble with PayPal.

My account is not limited, it is also not in any danger.

If I would send money to his PP account I would also use masspay - so they would only be getting $1 of the total transfer. I have already done transfers to a Chinese supplier for big amounts by masspay without any problems.

This is not a new account, I've had for maybe 4 years or more.

What I would do... I would use one of your Dad's other bank accts that he has not used in the past with Paypal. I wouldn't call paypal and tell them I'm doing this. Otherwise, you need to get your own US bank account.

hahahahah. Load of rubbish. Any paypal account has the potential for danger.
What about that last account you got limited permanently for a $1.50 transaction. Bet you never thought that account was in any danger

since you seem 2/3 set on doing what you want, why are you wasting time here for advice you are not going to listen to?

Since the question was how to withdraw thro' a family member, my answer is going with that of rsot. Do it via your own means. Leave your father's account, his bank accounts alone

Well, if anyone wants an updated I am successful so far:

After research I decided it would be best to withdraw to the bank account directly and not send the money to another PayPal account.

I also decided the best amount to withdraw first is $500.

The withdraw was successful and so were the 2 small deposits made by PayPal - no limitation so far.

I am thinking to start withdrawing $500 every 2 weeks until I clear out the account, I also stopped receiving payments into the account and I work with other ones.
