Default Ecrater website question

I opened a store on ecrater, and the next day sold 4 items but have not had a sale now in almost 2 weeks. I heard it could take some time to get a sale there, but it was really weird selling so much in the first day and now nothing. Any one here have experience selling on ecrater?

How much were the items? Are the buyers sellers also trying to get feedback? I sell on ecrater as well as several other sites but if your not on ebay you have to drive the traffic to your store/auctions you cannot expect people to just find you just think of your customers as cows you have to put up fences and heard them where you want them via banners and websites and a 100 other way that im sure is covered in a forum here somewhere

The site doesn't get a ton of traffic, it would probably be better to open your own site with your own cart (cs-cart) and promote it with adwords.

The only ppl who make money on these small auction sites are the ones that bombard the entire site with all their junk. If you're just looking to get rid of a few things forget it!

Sure why not? Just remember to hide the url with a free redirection service.

I have a store on ecrator. I get a decent amount of hits. They are really growing since ebay starting screwing ppl. they had about 6k stores in Jan. and now they have over 12k. I just tell ppl when they want something different on ebay to look at my ecrater store first. Best of all it's FREE and I can charge lower price because you don't have to pay the ebay crap fees.

It does look like it's growing, but it's still pretty low traffic wise.

I went with ecrater because of all the sites it had the 2nd or 3rd largest number of products next to ebay. I think they are over a million listings now. I figure it is like the chicken and the egg. You need seller to get buyers and buyers to get sellers. 99% of all these small mom and pop auction sites do not have a chance, having barely 100,000 listings. Some one should consolidate and these listing with or without their permission and then they might have a chance.

I made about 4 sales a week via ecrater when I simply opened up a store, and added a product.

Unfortunately for me I had to keep refunding people as they were buying from the US. Would be nice if there wer emore options on there, like UK only sales, currency changes, different store layouts, etc.

Yoshis – Aren’t you worried when telling your eBay customers to go check out your eCrater store? What’s to stop your eBay customer from ratting you out to eGay?

Doesn’t eBay consider this an “outside of eGay transaction”

Could someone let me know because I would sure love to contact my eBay customers and tell them to check out my ecrater store w/lower prices.

Thanks

I am not sure, but if it is not the same item as you listed on Feebay it should be OK. Oh, and I finally had 2 more sales today, so I guess there was not any problems with my ecrater store or payment method.

Can you use your own domain name for your ecrater store?

Yes Killed by ebay you can use your own domain and mask the ecrater store. See this thread and ask questions: eCRATER.com :: View topic - REDIRECTING your domain name to your ecrater store

Umm as far as sales go. It pretty much comes in bursts. I have two items for sale. Thats it and I get about 10 sales a month. I'm going to increase my items so I should have more sales. The best thing to do is sell everything you sell on ecrater on ebay. Sell on both until ecrater gets big enough to sustain you.

My ecrater store shows up as the third match on an organic google search when I put my item in.

Also use google analytics and start using adwords and other resources to advertise your store. When you start getting feedback your sales should pick up.

You know what else is cool? I just got a $50 credit from Adwords on google. I guess because I accept google checkout. I don't currently have an adwords account so this is a one time deal but oh well. I get to try out adwords for free to see if it worth spending a bit of money on.
