All the ports are the same, they use the same procedures and checks on imports. If I were you I would choose the one closest to your location to cut shipping costs.

Miami is the safest while San Francisco is the worst in my reading of different forums.

Depends on whats being shipped some ports have had more stuff detained reguarding what it is than others.

In my personal experiance I have had two packages seized in Chicago.

I have never had anything seized at San Francisco ever and I have had big bulky packages pass through there with no problems.

Im guessing why they pass through there is because of the traffic the port receives. I have heard New York and San Francisco are the busiest so im assuming they are the safest.

@Gamefreak, Los angeles/long beach, Are you kidding me? Los Angeles is the capital of bootlet and other items, I wouldn't trust Los Angeles with anything I import.

For the West Coast, San Francisco for EMS/US Mail has been good to me.

Now DHL, Long Beach, never fails.

I couldnot agree with you any more. All the ports are the same procedures in USA but you could ask your supplier to pack the goods well ,and donot show any brand name on the inner box.

If you read the forums you'll read about some ports being more strict than others, but teedon knows her stuff, so I don't know.

Teedon hit right on the head with :

"you could ask your supplier to pack the goods well ,and donot show any brand name on the inner box"

The best packaging will usually get through fine, I am sure there are a few lazy custom agents that don't bother to check, especially at 1, 2am when their half asleep.
