Default Is this a bad idea?

Is it a bad idea to start selling on my stealth eBay account before my PayPal account is bank + VCC verified? I want to sell 2 things, so when my bank account does get verified I can just send the funds to my bank account.

I was VCC verified only on some accounts, gathered up 5k funds in there, then added bank account and withdrew it slowly.

it would be good to have at least bank verified; better to have vcc verified; best to have both verified.

It only takes a few days to get verified.

You have to ask yourself this....

How does my paypal account appear to paypal if it is neither verified or confirmed AND I want to list x2 items over $50 in value ( or higher)

REPLY: a risk.

Solution: minimise the risks

I would recommend you verify it first. While some folx have success selling with unverified accounts, the mere fact that you ask this question shows that you are a bit unsure of the steps. It would suck if you did a nice job of getting things set JUST to get blocked from selling due to non-verified pp.

A recent test of mine with unverified pp was not a good one - but luckily once I verified the pp, eb automatically removed my 0/0 limits ha.

what kind of tests do you do, verify only the credit card portion or bank verify or both?

Last test was with just credit card portion. I actually got to selling then eb hit me with a 0/0 limit on seller account. I verified the pp and requested higher limits and was allowed to sell again.

Back when I joined here, the methods were to always verify & confirm paypal.
Applied to the countries where I have paypal accounts.

My main paypal accounts ALL got attached to ebay as fully verified & confirmed.
Those accounts have not had troubles except with the occasional buyer.
My 'tester' accounts which test paypal boundaries have more scrutiny including olds & restrictions of selling.

Make your own conclusions

Verified is always the way to go if you want to have minimal risk. However, if you are experimenting on the side , that is a totally different.

In my experience, it depends on what category you're selling in.

If you're selling in a low-risk category, then I've put through 10K on an account with an empty VCC and no bank acct.

If you're selling in a high-risk category, good luck to you sir.
