Hi guys I been reading posts on this forum for months but this is actually my second post. So I got a new PayPal & eBay at the end of December due a chargeback from a some scammer buyer on my original account. I was expecting the 21 day fund hold on PayPal and is has been very annoying. Recently, fund from buyers cleared PayPal immediately after the payment was sent. This has happened twice out of total 30 or so transactions. And transactions immediately after the instant clearing ones still got the fund hold treatment. This seems totally random and the items I sold in those transactions are exactly the same as the ones with fund holds. My PayPal And eBay accounts are both about 2 months old and my eBay account has 9 feedbacks so far. So my question is how can I reproduce the instant clearing and avoid the fund hold on payPal ?
Thanks!

the system isnt perfect and it misses transactions from time to time, that is why the holds dont always appear. happens to me too. cant explain it, i just roll with it

They put a hold on my account last week released it four days later after receiving feedback so I sold more items and they put a hold again. Im about to start begging for feedback so I can get hold released. Its very annoying especially when I need to withdraw money from my account. I have 40 feedback now really trying to get 100 so they can leave me alone because I heard they do this for sellers with under 100 feedback.
I crossed 100 feedback and they no longer held funds, then few days later...Boom 21 day holds... Also my dsr on the account is 5.0, 5.0, 5.0, 5.0 Its now a Powerseller Top Rated account. Yet still 21 day holds. No rhyme or reason.
I do sell DVD which is very very high risk category because of all the f@ke. However I have a legit US supplier, same one that Amazon and newegg uses.

I have accounts like this.
They have been tightening this a lot lately.
Used to be once I got to 25 fb and 90 days it was released but not much anymore.
I think it has to do with the item, not sure.
but if I'm selling tools or auto parts, those items have no hold on funds,
but if I'm selling apple products, or auto electronics, they have a 21 day hold.
and have been seeing this on 2 accounts for the last 2 months.

good tip. I believe its concerning what sort of item you sell and not HOW you sell it. I have ebay account with less than 20 feedbacks and ive been selling quite expensive items so far. First on I started with was professional audio interface worth >200€. No holds whatsoever. And from that point on my selling items were just more and more expensive. DSP processors worth >1000€. Only items that was bellow was an apple dvd drive of my macbook.
I'm pretty sure paypal 'holds' are more about managing Paypals own cashflow than legitimate concerns with accounts. Life is good when you can make up your own rules as you go! Ever wonder what happens to the interest on god knows how many held paypal accounts?
