Activity: 0% Longevity: 72% | | Supplier went MIA
My supplier, who has been very good to me over the past year, has gone MIA.
He came back from Chinese new year, shot me an email letting me know he was back, I placed an order with him for some product, and boom, he's gone all of the sudden. It's been 9 days now and he has not returned one email. I went to his (half ass) website even to try and contact him through there, or get a phone number or something, anything, and all there is on his website is a "contact us" message thing. I tried messaging him (or his company) through that but no luck.
Should I just go ahead and call my CC company now to dispute the charge of the goods I placed?
I also have pissed off customers who have been waiting forever for product, because of this and chinese new year. I have another supplier who I can order from (not as good as my original supplier but not much more expensive) and I'm wondering if I should just reorder what I need from the other supplier and consider my current supplier DOA?
What would you guys do?

What a shame, i've heard similar stories, usually once there gone, there gone for good, yeah i would switch supplier ASAP and call your CC company aswell.
Was the guy selling replica stuff by any chance? not to you necessarily, but on his store or site? They may have landed in trouble with the law, depends on what scale the supplier is dealing with, but who knows.
Was this guy from Alibaba by any chance?
If he does ever come back or replies back i guess you could switch back right.
Good luck.
Let us know!

yes, he was selling replica stuff
no, not from alibab
Called my bank, getting reimbursed for what I lost.
I'd rather have the goods though, or more/less the supplier. Ah well, that's the risk you deal with when doing this sort of stuff.
If he does get back to me he's going to have to blow me at minimum. I may have got my money back but my customers are more than likely gone.

i hate spending the time to research another supplier.
ah well, such is life.
Take what happened to me as a reason to always pay via CC. This was a trusted supplier too. I almost started paying him via Western Union but his western union discount was not big enough to bother so I said the hell with it. Glad I did.
The phone call to my CC company was 5 minutes long and they instantly reimbursed me without hassle.

I'll agree with you on the CC thing. Always best to avoid Western Union when possible.
You don't know what happened to your supplier. It could have been a bust, he could have had a heart attck or he could have just got tired of dealing or gone broke. You may never know.
Don't feel bad about the chargeback. This is just business. My suppliers are all very friendly and I am friendly back, BUT I would NEVER make the mistake of assuming friendship exists. Business and friendship don't mix. You did everything you could to contact him. I would have done the same thing.

I always try to research a supplier before I buy, in fact I drove over 700 miles one way this weekend to see them on Monday.
If your supplier is shady then run away as fast as you can

Also as I was buying bulk I beat up my supplier on the prices as I was face to face with him, which is more powerful when purchasing, so now I have a physiological advantage over him when I next order.

Was it on DHgate? Cause they have been cracking down big time on that site lately and suspending people and giving them zero access to account until its over.

Nope, no DHGate. I've used DHGate and Alibaba to find suppliers, but I never buy directly from either entity. If the supplier won't deal with me direct, I don't deal with them.
I found my now MIA supplier via lots of google searches. His website has been dead for awhile so I should have taken that as a clue but he still sent me my product via email so I was happy. I'd get my shat no latter than 7 days after I shot him the email with the order and his prices were the best I found. Damn I'm gonna miss that fock.
I've found what look like good suppliers, but there's always one snag or another, whether it be only willing to use western union, or they flat out refuse any sort of reshipment if seizure, or they charge some ridiculous insurance charge, etc....

I still miss my supplier adface
I decided to google the name of the company that showed up on my CC statement. Tons of scambook entries for them over the past month. Safe to say he's really gone...
New supplier is ok, but not as cheap and not as quick as old supplier. New supplier actually called my phone in the middle of the night, lol. Language barrier was pretty rough, but I like he contacted me about a question he had on my order.

and what do you know, out of nowhere I get an email from my supplier this morning with a tracking # and him asking if I got the parcel. I tracked it and sure sh!t, it's sitting at the post office. Almost a month of zero contact and all of the sudden I have the parcel.
I replied back to him asking where he's been and why all my emails were ignored. This outta be good.
Not sure what's going to happen considering I disputed the charge for this parcel with my CC company and they already reimbursed me.
