Default What can I do when buyer admint mistake on his part but...

Just wondering how should I proceed from the below:

Buyer received his purchase 10:56am, 28/2/2012. 10:58am, he emailed me saying "YOU SENT ME WRONG ITEM! GIVE ME MONEY BACK!"
11am (also 28/2/2012), he opened Ebay case and claimed:
1. Item not as described
2. Tried contacting seller but seller did not respond (he never gave me a chance anyway)
etc etc.

When I first responded after getting back from school, at 12pm, the buyer sent back a response, saying his mistake, he mis-calculated and looked wrongly. I still offered the refund once he shipped the item back. He said no so I asked him nicely to close the case.

He replied and said, No.....and he refuses to return the item too.

What am I supposed to do from here since as the seller, I can't close the case even though buyer admitted himself he made a mistake?

The case will expire because he probaly not answer the question back when asked.

You must reply back your self to the case and offer the money back if thats what you want to do. Ebay will ask him to ship back and show proof of shipping, which probaly he will not.

So cover all your bases and Ebay will stand up for you.

Yes, I did reply him that I will refund him 100% if he ships the item back.

Actually, I'm a bit unsure about Eb standing up for sellers because recently I've heard from friends and also read that they sided with obvious scamming buyers.
My 2 friends, one had a buyer returning him empty box without the merchandise and the other 2 Fridays ago, received a 90 % thoroughly used merchandise. He sold it brand new and sealed.
These 2 cases, EB took the sides of the buyers. The one who received the empty box, he didn't make a police report because it was only a $50 item, not worth the hassle, according to him. Nevertheless, he's still dissed abt scamming buyers getting things for free.
