Default Read help and browse forums -- does this really help or is it a myth?

Some people claim reading help pages and browsing forums will help ward off auto-suspensions. Does this really help or is it a myth? Has anyone tested it?

You mean eBay forums and help pages? It wouldn't seem it would help, but eBay does know what pages you view, what links you click and what not. It couldn't hurt.

Default I wonder if this is true...

I asked on my last posts why 3 consecutive accounts were suspended.

I am thinking EBAY is feeling quite bold after Yahoo bowed out of the arena. Now there is no major player doing auctions. Period.

So, I think they may have enhanced their ability to detect accounts likely to be suspended.

I am experimenting, but thinking logically, someone that creates a new account and starts listing immediately without thought or reference to help may just be a bad guy. Of course, it also may just be a legitimate seller diversifying, wanting a new seller account to sell some specialized class of stuff.

But think about it, if it were, then when his effort is thwarted by suspension, wouldn't the existing seller ask EBAY why he couldn't open a new account? Or wouldn't he likely use his existing credit card not trying to HIDE what he is doing from EBAY?

I am thinking the more dumb you play the better.

I believe the rule for eBay is you can have up to 3 accounts for personal use, using the same ip. The only thing is if you lose one account by suspension they others will be lost as well. Many households share many variables about their accounts. And most of the time, they'll be okay as long as they all play by eBay's rules.

Default Aspkin, what does this have to do with the question?

Noone said any of the accounts were linked by IP Address in any way. Was the number 3 somehow making some odd correlation to IP Address?

I completely cannot understand your response to either or the prior posts in this thread. Could you please elaborate?

Sorry, I've extremely tired and about to sleep. I haven't slept well in about a week, and I did some crazy workout today with my trainer that made me even more tired. Though what I got from your post, as you came with the multiple proposals and rhetorical question point is that if a seller, "wanting a new seller account", whether you're a new user or established, would have a problem when creating multiple accounts? Either way you do it.

If that's not it, I'm not sure what you're talking about either. I'll read it again in the morning when I'm more awake.
