Activity: 0% Longevity: 93% | | A series of stupid decisions - some advice needed on suspension for shill bidding!
Been reading and searching on here for the past 3 hours and found bits and pieces of answers to my questions, but not quite everything.
Well, about a year ago my account got suspended for shill bidding because my college room mate starting bidding on some of my items for fun - from the same computer I use. Suspended for 14 days on got it lifted. Then 5 days ago I had my sister bid on one of my items because I couldn't let it go for as low as it was and it was too late to end it. Yes, I know it was stupid, but they caught it and suspended my account for 30 days.
Then 2 days ago they suspended my dad's account as well for being associated with another suspended account. (my dad and I share the exact same name and live together with all the same contact info).
1st question - will eBay actually reinstate my account after the 30 days?? I would love to have it back as it had 1000+ 100% feedback.
2nd question - any chance of getting my dads account reinstated?
3rd question - I sell on eBay for a living and have to continue to sell. I sell mostly high dollar items ($1k +), and starting from scratch would be difficult with 0 feedback. I was contemplating using my g/f's eBay and Paypal account - I live in Chicago and she lives in Pennsylvania and there is no connection at all between either of our accounts. Would they somehow catch it and get her suspended too?

The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Might or might not get reinstated, all you can do is try after the 30 days...my advise would be to move on incase they don't reinstate..and you can use the g/f account as long as you change your IP clear your cookies (Ccleaner)..Good Luck

Thanks for the input lizardking
If I use my g/f account and I put my bank account info in her Paypal account so I can withdraw to my checking account will they catch that? Will they catch it if I use the same eBay listings as well?

caseywan, Welcome to the forum. Unless you spend more time reading, you will
not make a new account correctly, I am sorry to say. It is not simply a matter
of knowing a few ABCs, you need more knowledge.
Two recommendations for you and not in order of (my) preference....
Look at member Modee and read through the 3 threads he has as a signature.
In orange & red, there is info about a book titled eBay Stealth. Check that as well. It absolutely complements what aspkin's forum works to achieve.
This will be a great help for you. Good Luck.

Yes you can use your bank account, just add it and you will be fine..but like Greenbean said take some time to learn the ins and outs of this..and learn about Paypal Limitations..

Yep, I will be here reading a lot from now on.
Also, any suggestions on getting my dad's account reinstated? He was pretty upset that "I got it suspended".

This will be a great help for you. Good Luck. | I am actually not looking to make a new account just yet. I've had the same eBay seller account for over 10 years and would like to get it reinstated rather than always "looking over my shoulder" making new accounts and all.

it is nearly the same: there is information about having an account reinstated,
there is information about how to move on. My advice is to be prepared and that
will come after reading much more.
Still Good Luck to you. We all know the pain of ebay taking from us.

Ok, thanks for the info.
I have read a lot about faxing stuff to eBay... Does that apply at all in my situation?

Phew.
If you are going to go for reinstatement, yes faxing to ebay will apply. You have to prepare first. At the moment your account, your father's account is under flags at ebay: they are watching, looking and waiting.....be careful & be
ready.
Take offense or do not take offense, if you were working at ebay, what would
you think about an account with the same record? Think hard now.

Trying to be kind: your chances are not too good for reinstatement.

Now this really pisses me off!
Just a few hours before they suspended my dad's account he purchased a cell phone on eBay and didn't get a chance to pay the guy before they canned his account. Next morning he gets an email saying he got an unpaid item strike on his account.
So he contacted the seller via email and told him he was still planning on paying for the item and needed a Paypal address since he couldn't do the ebay checkout. The seller said he filed a unpaid item dispute because eBay sent him an email and TOLD him to file a dispute because "the buyer is no longer credible because he is no longer a register user"!! If somebody really wanted to could they take ebay to court for libel or slander for that kind of thing??
Still got the phone though, just paid directly to Paypal.
IF, by chance my dad does get his account reinstated is there any way to dispute that strike?? He is still pissed I got his account suspended and does not want to have to start from scratch and always be "looking over his shoulder".
I am pretty much giving up on getting my account back because "Modee's Game Plan" of stiffing eBay sounds pretty appealing - just need to do a lot more reading on here.

Casey.. I didnt get Modees Game plan was to stiff ebay??
What I read was facts/.figures...
Anyhow, to ward off potential chargebacks as a seller--when the letter comes--just get to your customers asap--tell them something like your acct is temporarily down due to hijacking or something..just complete the sale..
As for Reinstatement--once you fax-wait 10 days, or so-if no response try faxing again..I just had an acct reinstated last week, after i gave up with 4 faxes, and 6 wks time..
I am thinking theyre just real busy??
Good Luck

Good Luck | Yes, among other things part of his plan included stiffing ebay.
About this faxing thing... I've read about it in several places on this forum probably haven't read enough - do I request a certain form from ebay or how exactly does that work??

Thanks man - I really appreciate the help!
Is there any point in faxing in anything for my account right now? Should I wait for the 30 days to be up?

caseywan, actually ebayhateluv is a very gracious lady with a heart of gold.
Modee's hint was to stiff ebay for fees, a subtle difference than a full attack on
the ebay/beast.
Are you faxing about your own account or your Dad's? If you are going to go
for BOTH accounts you have to have a game plan.
