Default Question about paypal holds

Hello Guys,

I'm very new to paypal and I see people talking about holding funds, But I think it's only for payments from ebay ? I'll not selling anything trough ebay so I'll get the funds directly in my account balance ?

Welcome to the forums. While most of the time the 21 day hold applies to eb payments, some folx have been reporting holds on other payments. A lot may depend on payment source.

You may not. It's never a guarantee.

paypal will put holds on funds either on ebay or off ebay.

In other words paypal will hold money for anything at any time.

Source means where the monies come from.

EG, many non US based users try to transfer funds after transactions or freelancer or for google ad words. paypal tends to put holds on those.

Should your funds be from that type of transaction that's what may happen.

Be aware of that now

Verified means nothing. All new accounts and even some older accounts get hit with the holds.

I just sold several nice items on CL and took pp and they went through perfectly with no holds. I spread it out on different newer accounts because of the money amount but they were not held.

When I say payment source I mean the buyer - if buyer uses credit card or some weirdo transfer, that CAN affect the hold on the payment.

hey everyone,
So has everyone encountered the 21 day holds? Is this their policy now?
I've had all my stealth paypals (all 10+ of them) holds put on.
Just wondering if this is what they do now.

Yes seems like its just a part of the program now until some outrage is shown and thats ignored most of the time anyway. Until there is some fair competition the struggle continues.

To do business you have to have money apart from what the buyer gives you.

New paypal accounts get holds.

Are you dropshipping?

i am not selling on ebay but i still get holds when a person pays my invoice.
ALTHOUGH i have had one account (new stealth) taken off of the 21 day holds after about a month of being put on them. i had only one transaction on it and now i am wondering if i get money into that account will they be put on 21 day hold? because in the email that paypal sent me they said that they reserve the right to put future payments on hold if they decide they need to.....

I have several accounts 4-5 months old and over 100 fb and high dsrs and still getting holds.

The question is anyone getting holds lifted with good fb, dsrs etc anymore?

Used to be 25 fb and 90 days I would get them lifted, seems not anymore.

No has nothing to do with feedback. Its all about the products...

I have 2 accounts that are over a year old and 100+ Feedback, no negatives, no disputes, no refunds and top this a perfect 5.0 DSR across the board.... Still get holds...

I sell high risk products, in my experience that is all that counts.

I have 21 day holds on all my stealth accounts, they don't bother me at all. It's the nature of doing business on Ebay. If you ship quickly you get your cash sooner, usually 2-3 days after the item arrives to the buyer.

Best way is to ship out product with tracking, wait for feedback, build up rep with pp and holds MAY go away with time. No crazy loophole...unless I am not as enlightened as I should be. If something is ongoing, pm.
