Default Main Reason why sellers get banned on Amazon

a few weeks back I was banned from ebay, for a stupid reason that had nothing to do with me, over the weeks iv been in preparation to move my ideas over to amazon, as you can imagine iv become abit paranoid about being banned from another selling platform. My question is what are some main reasons why sellers get banned on amazon, I would like to arm myself with this info before I embark onto amazon so I dont get messed up again.

Please advise, the do's and donts when it comes to making sure you keep your account in good standing, thanks for your advise once again.

- F@KE Items
- Slow communication
- Slow Shipping
- Too Many A-Z Claims
- Too many customer complaints
- If you arent going to be selling in high volume than I would avoid amazon
- You need quality products that have a very very very low failure rate
- You are also going to want to be EXTREMELY familiar with amazons rules (For Example: I have seen numerous thread on here on why they have been banned for selling a f@ke products when it is on amazon already, and there are lots of others selling them under that listing. 1. You cant sell f@kes or it will be a quick boot from amazon. 2. Just bc others are selling it doesnt mean its ok. 3. Most items are listed in the wrong category and will be found fast, and you will get the boot.)

- All in all, with amazon you need to know EXACTLY what you are doing.

I use to sell Posters on ebay, I was a volume seller. The reason I got banned had nothing to do with what I was selling. Id like to move my Poster business over to amazon, here is an example of what I will be selling on amazon.

click on the amazon logo link for the example

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lucy-Pinder-Glossy-Celeb-Photo/dp/B003JCC9KU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1332197393&sr=8-2
anything I need to be warry about, the posters as you can see would be non-nude, and non copyrighted. Im trying to think of anything else I could get in trouble for other then non performance.

As long as there is no major copyright or violated rules, you shouldnt run into any issues. Keep in mind that if you are creating your own product pages, you need to be approved. The process for this is not easy, and takes a rock solid selling account of years with no to little issues. You also need to have a pretty consistent record of high income, along with many other factors. I have several account, one of which took 2 years and the other one took 8 months after I figured out the ropes. If you are new at this, I would not bet on being very successful at this process, which is why most people stick with ebay.

Shipping time and communication.

In Amazon, a customer ask you a question. No matter if it warrants a reply, reply to it in less than 2 hours. Makes you stats look good.

Always ship fast and must provide a tracking number.

Like your username, I was top rated on ebay too, then banned.

I wont have a problem shipping the item out quickly, and I usually respond to customer messages within 6 hours. Is amazon as trigger happy as ebay when it comes to banning sellers for situations out of your control?

@Amazonstealth - seems like you have a good grasp on this. Ever had random blockage of the account? Or random deletions? Just wanting to know if you have ever had this headache.

Amazon is all about the customer experience. They don't want their buyers to be inconvenienced in any way.

Selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ is not a good idea, it will most likely get you banned pretty quickly.

However, selling legitimate items that are considered high-risk can do it as well.

As will selling shoddy merchandise.

NEVER be rude to a customer. Amazon requires that you offer refunds for almost ANY reason. So, arguing will just lose you the account.

Ship fast, always use tracking, respond to any inquiries politely and professionally and never be rude. The customer can afford to be a jerk - you can't.

A lot of this is common sense, but you would be surprised how many people can't master it.

If you're running a business on either of these platforms then you only have a business as long as somebody else doesn't pull the plug on you. It's actually a terrible idea really, the idea that someone you don't know, to whom you have no redress, can switch your business off like a light switch. But that is the game, you play it or don't.
