Default Is Legal Zoom legit - Need to register business name

I seem to have a memory of using Legal Zoom for something a long time ago. I have since heard of them but never really thought about it. Now I need to register a business name online and according to their website they can do it for me and it's %100 legit.

I would like to know if this website is reputable and if anyone has used it? Just your thoughts and opinions please. I'm assuming this will cost money and I very much can't afford to waste anything right now.

They are completely legit. Mostly everything is done for you to save time & money. Also, if you order the corporation package, you can split it of into three monthly payments. Very much so recommended.

Depend on where you are but you can just go to the website for your states state department and register it online and save $$$$$$$$

All they do is transpose what you tell them onto the state form, its not rocket science.

Thanks so much for your thoughts (and for everyone elses as well). I have gone this route and got most of what I need done through my state website. I couldn't resist saving $40. Now I just have to figure out how this state tax deal is with an incorporated business. Fun fun!

Its completely trustworthy. Much more than several others. Most can easily be done through your local.gov website but if you want smooth, cheaper and fast go with these sites. In some cases you can save 100% of the costs.

Many things are free or near it to file with your state if you do it by yourself.

Ditto.
It's not that complicated. OP, why don't you do it yourself?

One of the things that legalzoom does not tell you if whether to go LLC or S Corp.

I have researched it a lot and its better for tax purposes to go S Corp but more paperwork to deal with it. If you go LLC you can set it up with the IRS that your taxes can be dealt with in the same manner as the S Corp and save money and paperwork.

They dont tell you because there is no way that someone else can just tell you which way to go. You have to make that decision based on many different things..

Those 2 business options have tons of pros AND cons as all of them do. you just have to choose the one that fits your business model.

Thats why most mention that so much on here. a business model is a must. If not then its just hustling to make a buck in my opinion.

Well, neither the state's website nor Legal Zoom said much about the options. Even with reading about both options there seems to be so much misinformation about them. Or at least, contradicting information.

Filing on the state website wasn't difficult but some of the options did confuse me. Like why did one option only let me claim that I sell goods on online ONLY? I don't understand why they made it such a point to make so I had to put my business in such a nook. I would think many Ebayers sell things online and in person. Plus, why wasn't there a sub-section to say online AND through other means?

Just a little weird.

But I'm happy to know that Legal Zoom is 100% legit. I needed to hear that for future purchases as well.
