Been several reports of this happening.

No the bank will not block it as its a reciprocal agreement you have with p/p for depositing and withdrawing funds from your account.

Its what you signed up for

As for what happens when the names don't match......your busted!

Welcome to the forums. As NoneOther stated, this has been happening with some of the bank accounts registered to PP account.

Which bank is it? You cant block it on your bank's name.

All the best as you read through the site.

This happened to me on the last two accounts I made.

So far so good.

They are trying to see if the bank shares the name etc.

This has happened to me on every PayPal account I have ever made. They always list it as "auto-sweep" or "recovery-sweep" or something similar. It has not adversely affected any of my stealth accounts.

Over the last 3 weeks, paypal has been going into my bank acts, and has been trying to "test" each act. When they try to withdraw, it comes up bad act, and I have to reverify with new bank info.

Its been a pain.

@Jedi, that kind of bad action could cause problems later. Hmm seems to be that PP might be doing not just to get back cash but also to weed out the microdeposit VBAs.

Why is that happening? Is it because paypal can't access the funds on those bank accounts? Do you enter in the same bank info and then you can continue withdrawing to those banks again?

This just happened to me also. Does this mean that paypal knows the real name of my ally bank accounts now? Does ally bank share names with paypal when these verification deposits are debited? Will this affect my paypal withdrawals?

When money is sent FROM a bank to another service, a receipt is always generated with the ACCOUNT HOLDER'S NAME...it's a field in the financial receipt.

That being said - does PP have your real name now? Likely so - or whatever name was on the bank account. Will it cause you problems? I don't think so but only time will confirm.

Think that may have something to do with how the DD Guarantee works

I just had one paypal account limited and they are asking me to verify my new ally bank account, which I already verified via deposit method. The reps I spoke with can't tell me why this is happening. I guess they can verify some bank account owner names now.

Just happened to me, they deposited money into my account to verify it and then they withdraw the amount like 4 minutes later. I am now wary of withdrawing money out of that account, although I'm not certain I much of a choice. Either way, I don't think this being done to verify account holder names but rather to get back the micro deposits, which probably add up to a couple grand a month with so many people signing up.

Was this a brand new paypal account that you verified or was it an older account?

Also depends on the bank involved.
