Default seller disappeared after auction

Hi guys
I won an auction on ebay. Seller disappeared from the face of the planet after auction, I believe because they didnt like the price.
I have not paid for the item.
I am just wondering how things will work if seller decides to do a non paying bidder strike.
will I automatically get a strike if seller decides to open a case, since i havent paid for the item?

Did you request the invoice? do that and see if there is a response. Then request their information from ebay so you can call them. I would.

Might just be a seller that doesnt want to talk to someone. A reason many sell on line. Might be just waiting for your payment is all.

Have you tried to email him yet? if so send an email directly to his email account and not through ebay. some new sellers dont even know how to use or see the ebay emails.

They see them in their regular email and simply hit the reply button on their email browser. It wont go through to you and he probably thinks it does.

if you get a non bidder strike, then pay for it, if you still want it.

NBS means nothing if one off and you changed your mind because you feel uncomfortable for some reason

what I dont get is why seller disappeared in your opinion? they are probably still waiting for you to pay. check their profile are they NARU, otherwise just pay....

If you can't pay for it just tell the seller a story. Its in the seller interest to not get negative feedback and get his account bad. So you win mostly if you don't want to pay.

Since seller had never sold on ebay, I felt kind of uncomfortable...so I just contacted him after auction to make sure he is still alive. I asked a question, dont remember the question, something like "if I pay now, will it be shipped right away?"
The purpose of this question is to make sure seller is still alive. This saves me the headache of paying, waiting 2 weeks for the mail, not receiving anything, sending 2 emails asking where is my item, sending 2 additional emails asking for refund, not receiving a refund, filing a paypal dispute, wait a week for my money.
seller is still registered.
alright i guess time to call him.

Wait is this a business registered seller - If so they should have a contact number at the bottom near the business name and address.
