Try Tyrosine, GNC brand.

I don't smoke but it helped my friend quit a few months back.

I used to smoke a few cigs a day off and on, never really got that addicted but tapering off combined with jogging always worked for me.

I smoke about 10 a day since I was 15. The only way is to just do it, cold turkey will power. I know of only 4 people personally who quit and they all did it cold turkey. No patches, gums, nothing, just quit. Although 1 of them did the same as you, went back to it in a few months.

I don't see how hard it is though, never tried myself because I don't want to quit. I enjoy a good smoke. Although you WANT to quit which is kind of silly in my opinion, if you want to quit, just quit that's all. I hear the first couple weeks are hardest, you did it for months, do it again and stick.

That's why tapering off anything is way better than cold turkey, your body has a chance to get used to it without any harsh affects.

You go as long as you can without a smoke, then have one and repeat, each time between smokes shoud get longer and longer, combine that with jogging to clean your lungs out and that should do it.

jbluntz is dead right just cut down as much as you can, go jogging and do more things to keep your mind occupied. I still smoke a few now when im stressed which is weird as nicotine does in fact cause more stress not cure it, it just supress's it for the moment.

I hammer them when the jack daniels comes out though but have cut right down with these simple methods..

When i was like 7 i wanted to be cool and smoke cigarettes like the older kids. I couldn't get my hands on the real thing so I ended up rolling up news paper in a joint and smoked about 4 pages. Burned my eyebrows and eye lashes and threw up like 3 times.... Never touched a cigarette since then. ABSOLUTELY hate the smell of them.

Got alcohol poisoning when i was 14,

I get drunk till this day

When people talk about smoking, evenyone thinks of lung cancer. And, yes, some smokers die from lung cancer. But that is a small percentage.

MUCH MORE DANGEROUS IS COPD!!!!

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder. More than 50% of all smokers will end up with COPD and by the time it is diagnosed, you are usually at less than 50% of your lung capacity. There is NO CURE and the damage is PERMANENT. Quitting will greatly slow the progression, but it won't totally stop it.

I never knew COPD existed. They estimate that 20,000,000 Americans have the disease and don't know it, because their breathing has not yet become noticeably bad.

If you think you may have it, get a spirometry test (you blow into a device, much like a breathalyzer - it only takes 2 minutes and there are no needles or anything).

I switched to e-cigarettes. Blue didn't work for me, but 21st Century did as it is CLOSE to the real thing - as close as you're gonna get, anyway.

OKAY... Stepping down from soapbox...

Used smoke 80-90 More menthol daily and cigars.

Had to get a 'growth' removed from my thyroid. Pathology was borderline.

Specialist said no more smoking.

Only way I make it work is to apply the steps recommended to drinkers.

I will not smoke today is my creed. In the years I've done this I've had 2 cigarettes.
Works for me.

Hard to do. Good Luck to anyone making the decision.
What bugs me is that all the years I did smoke I never had respiratory troubles. Now I get sick heaps :>
