Default Been hit with a MC021

Hey guys, I've made a real novice mistake. I had 3 (non-stealth) accounts selling copied caps, eBay have today shut all three down.

I had £520 in my linked PayPal which I've tried to withdraw, however a couple of disputes have come through reducing it to £480 or so, the dilema is, either try and withdraw it now or completely disconnect the PayPal from my bank account/card etc?

What would you guys recommend?

Also, what is the process following a suspension? Do eBay email buyers advising them to seek a refund? If so how do I get my products back?

Cheers, Dem Shrimp

My first advice would have been not to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ as you have now found out what the results of that are.

Yes, in all probability e/b will have emailed your buyers telling them not to complete the transaction, so you can expect a few more disputes.

As for p/p, you can try your approach but if you do manage to withdraw the cash and the cases come rolling in they will settle them and come after you for the money they have refunded.

As these accounts are in your real name that would not be a wise move, would it?

True story. I won't be making that mistake again.

I've had a couple of people that hadn't received them who have started disputes. How far back does this apply? I mean what about items sold a month ago?

It mentions nothing about authenticity in the email either, so I'm guessing most people that have already received their item and are happy will ignore the message?

That's a true point. I guess that money acts as a buffer, and limits any financial damage I may incur.

Any idea why my PayPal hasn't be limited though?

Obviously i am a novice at this but the same happened to me a couple of days ago and my first reaction was to withdraw all the money. These are legit acounts in my name. Today my paypal account was limited, meaning i cant withdraw from and they hold onto the money for 180 days. I had nearly £500 sitting in there and is no way i could of tried to do a restart with out them funds.

I have only sold 5 items in the past month from that account not totalling more than £130. I have emailed all of them to say i am having problems and one has got back to say they received the item. They customers know where they stand.

Worst comes to the worst and paypal goes negative it will just be taking from my debit card on that bank account, but at least i have the money.

This is only my input, but i had 2 days after my 3 linked ebay accounts being closed and my paypal account being limited.

Welcome to the forums.

You want to TRY and keep the pp account alive? Stop trying to withdraw.

Is the account new? Prob best to let it cool if you have not been suspended already - if so...you are prob s.o.l. since eb is very hard on new accounts.

If you got a notice to submit ID and if your account is in your real info, might as well try.

As NoneOther indicated, BIG difference in real info vs. true stealth account - I mean....with regards to approaches.

Saw your second post just now - prob wise to get stealth guide and read around the forums

Yea I've decided to withdraw £200 and leave £300 in there.

Does anyone know how far eBay date back the transactions? Is it everything within the last 7 days or 30 days that buyers will be notified?

I've also noticed that the only disputes so far have come from people who haven't received their item yet. So I'm guessing those who have will be less intent on getting their money back?

Cheers, Dem Shrimp

Whatever time frame ebay wants.

If ebay decided to really take you down because of the type of item they have been known to go back 9 weeks

I should add ,after Welcome to the forum, be alert for buyers who have their items filing
claims too.
Such is ebay

Well PP excuse for holding on to your money for 180 days is because of claims/chargebacks that could occur , so in essence up to that point is the minimum time I would presume.

However if your PP has not been limited, you should add all your tracking info into PP for each and every transaction.

Sort that dispute a.q.a.p and get it resolved, specially if you do not have tracking. If you do not have tracking, I would just refund, as PP will find in there favour. Better get it resolved and get your account in as good a standing as possible.

Wait 7 days from your last transaction, and remove all your money if you are able to. You can always pay PP if you go in to negative, however will not have access to your funds for 180 days if they decide to part company with you.

PP LOVES information - feed them well and don't drain the account and you could be good.

Update: My PayPal is still fully functioning.

However, my fourth account (which was not linked to the three shut down, but was not a stealth account) has just received an MC999 saying they believe its associated with one of my suspended accounts. They've made my selling limit 0 and asked me to verify my identity through Bank Account? I actually have a bank account set up that hasn't been used with eBay/PayPal, so is it worth verifying it? Or do you think they'll still shut it down either way?

Cheers, DemShrimp

Let me know

But my PayPal is still fine and they haven't even closed the other eBay? Shall I just not confirm my identity on the other account?

As GB has already said you have linked the account so it is only a matter of time until the inevitable happens.

Ah fair enough, well the EB account is useless to me now anyway. So long as the PP is fine (which it seems to be as I use it for a lot of other stuff outside EB).
