Default Do Paypal restrictions also limit your old credit cards forever?

Like a lot of people here I have plenty of credit cards that cannot be used with Paypal (to open accounts) as they are from previously restricted accounts from 3-5-, even 10 years ago. Same account numbers for the most part but with different expiration dates. My question is.... can these cards still be used to make purchases through Paypal as a 'guest' (without opening an account of course)? I don't want to use my 'live' Paypal accounts as those are dedicated towards revenue, not buying stuff.

:-)

Paypal never discard any information - no matter how old.

Wouldn't it be easier to ring your credit card company and say you have lost your card - they will then issue a new one with a new number

Problem solved

Yeah, I am assuming they don't discard old info. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience (and problems) with using their old cards (even with changed numbers) as a 'guest' for Paypal purchases.

If you try to use a previous card, it will simply say that card is registered to another paypal account. I would guess if it is the same number, but with a new expiration date, it would still get denied.
Easiest to what Granny suggest and just call you Cc company and tell them you lost your card. Within a week you will have an new card, new number and no problem.

Of course NOT.

Cards are linked.

Guest option on paypal is over-rated now too.

Too many people all trying to work around paypal doing the guest option are slowly killing that.

Go back to the drawing board for a workable plan

Why do you need to use the same cards?? they keep track of everything, why do not you new cards, try to give PayPal what they want, make them happy, and I am sure you will be happier

No reason to even use a credit card.

Thanks for the replies, all. Just an issue when dealing with some sellers who only accept Paypal. Not a huge issue in the big picture with all the other payment options available (Dwolla, Serve, Google Wallet, Bitcoins, etc.).

Do NOT use old cards as guest purchases - you may be limited or cause problems for your purchase.

Yeah, went ahead and filed them in my 'do not use' folder. Getting pretty crowded in there.

How many accounts can you open with the same information? Why would you want to use your credit card to open accounts?

This wasn't about opening new accounts. It was about using Paypal as a guest (for personal purchases... which as mentioned aren't related to business and incoming revenue). For opening new accounts I have always used separate identities (or rather separate people) for each and every account. Nothing is duplicated or overlapping. For my key Paypal accounts, it's a different smart phone that connects to a different cellular service for each and every account.
