Default 'Immediate Payment Require' ...only credit card payments?

I had a buyer who said he can't buy the item because I require 'Immediate Payment' via PayPal in my listings and that this option doesn't let him use his PayPal balance or funding from his bank account, only via his credit card. Is that true? :o

No that's not to true at all. When you make a paypal payment, the money automatically gets deducted from your balance, and if there is no balance, then your bank account.

So he's either having you on to buy with no intention of paying, or is just a dick

Yea, funnily enough I was reading it on PP yesterday. I think you can change your funding sources though? But by default, it comes out of your balance.

Thanks for your help! Maybe a competitor trying to leave me a negative without paying. The reason I put up up the immediate payment requirement is to avoid idiots who buy, don't pay and then leave a negative.

That's exactly why I use it

No doubt for some reason they will bring an end to immediate payment... *Rolls eyes*

On the other hand, if his pp balance is 0, or the transaction takes it into negative, it may well attempt to remove it from his verified card, as it's instant, unlike a request to a bank, which would end up you being paid with an Echeque from Paypal.
