It varies from account to account. It could be a few weeks to months and it all depends what your selling as well.

I have sold and item for £49.00 and a hold was put on it whereas I sold another item from the same account for £4.99 and no hold was placed.

So I don't think there is a set pattern, even they can place holds on older accounts as well

I hate how their rules have such variations...

Also what I forgot to mention is that when a buyer leaves positive feedback then they will release the hold, so its worth sending a kind reminder to buyers to leave feedback.

I only send a reminder once and if I don't get a response then just wait until the 21 days.

Patience is the key and yes it can be annoying if you do need the funds..........

Wow really? That's a good piece of information to know, thanks. Just goes to show you how intertwined their systems are!

It's just interesting how when you refer to them as being the same entity to any of the reps they respond by saying even though we have the same owner, we are two completely different companies... Lol bull they both share the exact same business model and practices. I think they just label them as two different companies so that one can be used as a scapegoat when someone questions their guidelines...

I have accounts that were Ebay banned about a year ago and I still use the emails for Craigslist and Paypal still sends these 21 day hold emails that come and then go. It's very strange and totally senseless. So I don't know what they could possibly be basing their 21 day holds on. Must be totally random anymore.

on my paypals if they are new, i get 1-2 months of 21 day holds, then they are taken off (not selling on ebay).
ebay funds however are getting 21 day holds for 6 months now, and i have a pretty good history on ebay.

A lot of times, forever. And as soon as they say they are lifting the hold, they will slap it back on you.

I have an account one month old, 18 fb and no limits or holds on either eb or pp.
