I was at Sheffield Uni back in the 70's and used to love the bacon and tomato in breadcake that we used to get at the all night burger van just past Whicker Arches after a night at Genevieves or The Fiesta club - happy days

Its a bloody stottie

Went to Manchester once had the same issue...they didn't have a clue what I was on about. I was equally as confused when they started offering a bacon barm... I usually rub balm on!

Try going to stoke - they love oatcakes there, they're weird pancake bready things that they eat for every meal of the day. Weird to try but once you've got half a pound of bacon on anything it tends to taste good!

Bloody southerners

its a stottie in china fizzy ? lol

depends where in manchester you go, in bury its a bacon muffin or a flour cake

bacon roll in southampton where my good friend lives, he is a southern fairy

bread batch in birmingham if i remember too

to me a muffin is a bun with blueberries in it

but some fools call a bread muffin a teacake, but a teacake is a sweet bread roll with currants in

Does it ever. The Fiesta club was just over the road - I can't remember the name of the complex but it includes the bus station.

There was also Napoleons and Turn Ups. Turn Ups started out in Nether Edge and then moved to the City Centre

Nice find tsmt - I'm going to show it to my grandkids this afternoon.

Genevieves was named after the daughter of the man who owned Napoleons and Genevieves. If my memory serves me correctly he was named Max Omarah - a really hunky black guy who was just so cool. Happy days indeed

I like naan bread, sourdough baguettes, and currant buns and teacakes.

Well nowadays they distinguish with muffins and English muffins, both yummy.

you do not mention the north/south divide of crumpets and pikelets....
