Default Paypal problem

Ok I think I messed up big time

I have a Paypal account in Canada that's verified since 2005. I had made multiple transactions like buying items from ebay here and there in the past but I never sold anything using Paypal.

Lately, I sold a couple of items(not with ebay) using Paypal and I just found out some buyers created ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Paypal accounts and paid using stolen cc numbers. The money has been transferred to my chequing account already and I was wondering what I should do if the real owners were to file a dispute or something ? How would it go ? Will they charge me back the amount ?

I'm starting to freak out so any advice would be helpful...thanks

You'll most likely get a hold on your funds, putting you into negative until funds are added to your Paypal account. Depending on what you want to do, you can refund the money or run like the wind. It also depends if you have you SS# on the account.

Personally I get tired of people who lose their credit cards to identity thieves. Why should I pay because of their mistake? If I sent the item out, I fight for the money. If not I'll refund.

well good thing about paypal canada is they dont ask for SS#... so i would make a new account or have a backup account and if something does happen, abandon ship.

Ok well refunding would've of been fine with me but I already shipped out the merchandise so I would be losing money.

And even if I do close my Paypal they have my banking info plus a credit card I got registered as a backup if there's no funds in my chequing account so wouldn't they just charge me the amount missing?

Also my SS# isn't registered in the account but is there a way I could maybe talk with Paypal and try and figure this out and not cancel the account ? Or is it really the only way if I don't want money taken out my bank account...

Because you are now a victim of fraud, I suggest you discuss the problem with the bank
and get anything to do with paypal removed. You are as much a victim. Like aspkin said,
FIGHT as it is your money.
Send paypal an email that you have been forced to terminate YOUR business with them
because of fraud. ACT like you are going to resolve the problems and move on. Good Luck.
