 Complicated story need help
I had my ebay account get suspended awhile back so i ask my brother if i could open an account in his name and he said it was fine but he didnt want me to go over the IRS limit of $20K. Well i miscaluated and went over and yeah over the 200 items also. He never seen a dime of this money so i dont want him held responsible for the taxes. He has never even seen his paypal account or ebay account. I had his payal account verified with his SSN when i opened it up.
I have not been able to find how i might be able to keep him from getting a 1099. Im done with paypal and ebay so what i did was went into the paypal account deleted his bank info,changed his address to mine, changed his phone number to mine, and even changed his SSN to mine. I didnt figure changing the SSN number would be possible but it worked. The only thing i cant change is his name to mine. Im wondering if this will keep him from getting a 1099 and if i will get it instead.
Also i dont know if i should call paypal and explain so they might change the name to mine or not. He doesnt know i went over the limit and i really dont want to tell him but if paypal needed any info from him i would tell him so we could get it straightened out. I have been woried about this for 2 days and really need advice. Its not only that he will get the 1099 but theres other greater issues.
