Default Shipping items over $250 items internationally

Is shipping items over $250 internationally priority mail with insurance good enough for seller protection or does it have to be express mail? Do both require signature?

Priority mail is good enough, signature is optional, and to the contrary of Express mail the receiver generally doesn't have to pay taxes. For items over $250 I'm not 100% sure about that though.

be very careful with russia. i don't know who you are using for insurance i believe the new auctiva insurance rules won't hold responsibility with packages sent to russia. personally i have not had a problem but i know the russian postal system is very very slow

You're brave; I have heard of to many scammers abroad. So I just stick with the U.S. and Canada. But on the other hand, I sometimes think that I'm loosing sales too.

Unless your account is in really good standing, I would avoid Russia.
Not that keen on Israel either.

To give you an idea of how great Russia is for getting items, I had a delivery that took a mere 13 weeks . It was off ebay. But can you imagine dealing with that on ebay

I send over 12 parcels to Russia annually. None of them arrive within the designated delivery time.

In my entire selling history I have only shipped 4-5 things to Russia. Most arrived within 6 weeks and 1 package got lost. It was the last time I shipped to Russia.

All of the USPS postal workers have told me to skip Russia and Italy. Those 2 countries have a lot of fraud in their postal system.

US and Canada for me, I include Japan but nobody from there buys from me unless it's a SSD hard drive.

Last year when I had my legit account I was selling 4 or 5 packages each day to Russia, never a problem, now I do not want to jinx myself and I know things can happen but so far no issues , the only international scammer I have had was from Japan

Yea, same thing with me. I will ship to Canada, Australia, NZ, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, the 4 Scandinavian Countries, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Iceland, Luxomberg and that's it. Too many problems everywhere else. Sometimes if a buyer has lots of feedback I will consider UK and Ireland.\

I would never ship an item over $250 internationally. From what I understand even if you have signature confirmation and they file a dispute against you internationally paypal will rule in their favor.

Russia has a lot of problems with their post system. I would be very careful with them. For shipping to countries like Russia I would recommend using UPS, DHL or something like that.
