Needing a Disc Repair Machine

I've looked on ebay, but I have no experience with disc repair, so I'm not really sure what I'm looking for.

Are there any brands or models that you would recommend?

New vs used machines?

How much should I be willing to pay? Are the more expensive machines a lot better at resurfacing discs, or do they just work a lot faster?

Any advice is appreciated!

Go to Harbor Freight and get a bench grinder, replace the wheels with cloth ones, then get plastic buffer and polishing clay. I used to resurface hundreds of discs per day and I invested about $100 total. Takes practice to find the right amount of pressure needed to resurface the disc without burning it. Worked 10X better than the big JFJ machine I had bought. I used to have a video rental store.

The JFJ machines look like junk to me. That is one brand that had already decided against. If I get one, I was thinking about the disc-go-devil.

Your idea sure sounds like it would work well. Would you care to give me links to the products that you used? I found a bench grinder and the cloth wheels, but I wasn't really sure about the buffer and polishing clay that you mentioned, or how to apply those. This may be something that I would like to try since it doesn't cost much at all.

I just have my disc machined, $5 per disc.
