Default Amazon Asking for Tax ID?

Is everyone getting this request?

Hello from Amazon,

Due to current and upcoming tax regulations, we've updated Amazon's policy regarding the collection of tax identity information. Professional sellers are now required to provide their tax identity information to Amazon.

Please provide your tax identity information to Amazon as soon as possible in order to prevent disruption to your seller account. If the required information is not provided to Amazon by September 30, 2012, your Amazon selling privileges will be suspended until you provide the information. If you have already provided your tax identity information to Amazon, please disregard this message.

I haven't sold a single item and they're asking for tax id o_O.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

nah, just the newbies are screwed. I think the more advanced sellers have been providing tax info from the beginning so as to not worry about limitations or raising any red flags. Actually, I welcome the new change.. It should help weed out the nonsense.

Provide your tax info and you can sell. Do not provide it, and you do not sell. Simply as that. I hope they ban everybody December 1st, to screw over all those trying to bypass the system.

Did you read the letter? It says professional sellers are now required to provide tax ID.. Doent matter if you dont sell anything you are a professional seller so you should be providing your tax ID regardless.

Yes, and those who do turn and burn accounts. You either go legit or go home.

And one more question. If Amazon really wants my Tax information... Why they do not notified me about it in my account? Why only email? It sounds fishy.

spend your money on inventory and wait 90 days (maybe) to get paid, and continue to do so....sounds like a legit plan

Default I use to create corporations/ shelf corps

I use to create corporations/ shelf corps. The is not really something that is easily verified. You can get a few a day with no problem with no money ... But make sure you pay IRS if you make more than $300 a year with that tax ID. But in general this is NOT a big deal. Just relax.

Reminder to those whose IQ is challenged, FEDERAL LAW applies for taxes.

You know you you are with your less than bright ideas.
