Default PayPal 20K limit

I believe I'm getting close to the $20k limit. I was wondering how can you get a total sales for the current year. I have found before but can't find it anymore. Thanks in advance for the help

You can view your last 3 months statements in paypal, then you would just need to add up all the payments...

eBay will also show you monthly sales and past 12 months sales

Im very close, about 17k now.....trying to get another ebay account kicked off.

If you go to reports. Then you can choose monthly sales reports. You need to make a spreadsheet and go through by each month and tally it up. Honestly, from my experience and people I know I would stop about 2k short of the 20k and try to spread out sales as best as possible through the year. So your projection doesn't look like it would go over.

Yes I found the reports. Thanks to everyone for the help. BTW does the $20K go from Jan-Dec? Also ebay just raised my limits to 700 items and $18K/ month. Darn IRS :(

I believe if you go to "Account Summary" section of your eBay account there is a section that tells you how many items you have sold/made in a year through eBay. Should be much easier than going through statements on Paypal and adding them all up.

If it was a simple as that, there wouldn't be much use for this site or e-book

Just because you use the methods of this site does not mean you can't be legit. I think a lot of people would get offended by that. I am sure there are some trying to scheme but most serious people are not

Yea this site is not about avoiding taxes. They should be paid even if you are below 20k... Also, if you think they wont report it for 18K your mistaken. Last year they reported accounts I had under 10K and sent statement.

They are not required, but still have the option. I think they will be on the safe side and send out the documents for everyone.

Taking this into consideration might as well go legit before IRS comes knocking...

Go to your Paypal Account...History...Reports...then Monthly Reports.

You can see your Gross for each month. Make sure to add up your Gross sales and not the net.

Keep a monthly tab, whether it's a spreadsheet or you write it down.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't rely on that. I was very carefully counting my sales, and thought same way that I will stop a few grand before reaching 20k. But when I reached $15k, Bam! I got PayPal limitation on receiving money.

You have to spread it out over the year. So it looks like your sales projection wont go over the 20k. I would try to keep make it look like you would end up at $18-19k for the year. That has been my experience. I haven't done it but I had a friend as well who sold like 12k in the first 3 months of the year and had the same thing happen. My advice is there is no absolute but the more you can spread it out over the year the better off you will be.
