UK Bank Account from Abroad

Dear members,

As it is now required to provide a UK bank account to open an eBay UK seller account, could anyone know how to set up a UK bank account from abroad in order to set up an eBay UK seller account?

Dave, you could try Halifax Halifax Online Banking - UK Banks, Finance, Personal, Telephone & Internet Banking

They let non-residents open accounts. You have to watch what type of account to open
though. You can get paypal verified but then you can not use that account to move money with paypal. Or try HSBC in the US. Tell them that you are going to the UK in 3 months & they should help you open an account with them in the US and then give you the paperwork to open the UK account. With the Money Laundering laws of the UK, it is better to be 'known' to the bank.
One point, have you a UK address?

Yes I do have a UK address but it is associated with a suspended UK account. So I may not be able to use it.

Are you from the UK by any chance?

Dave,not living there currently.:( OK, about that address you can possibly change it around somewhat. There are other things you might do.
