Default Interesting Fund hold situation

Curious if anyone has sold and item through ebay that was subject to the 21 day hold, shipped and provided tracking information and paypal still will not release the funds even after the 3 days past the delivery date based on the shipper?? They still want me to wait the 21 days. Every time I have uploaded tracking information, the hold has been released three days after delivery. This seems kind of odd, wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

This 3 days past delivery has turned into a bit of a myth, sadly.

Typical paypal varied its manner of dealing with the holds.

We could reasonably say 9 months back, do certain things & paypal will release the funds.

Now, it's too varied, imho. Each account is treated differently.

Talking

Thanks for the reply, however I found out the scenario.

It goes as follows, I had to talk to several different paypal reps before I found one that would explain to me what happened.

1) created ebay account sept 4th, item sold sept 4th (but I had no paypal account created yet) ebay sent email saying payment was sent and I could ship

2) created shipping label sept 4th

3) shipped sept 5th

4) shipping company indicated delivery sept 6th

5) created paypal account to claim money on sept 8th, verified vcc, bank verified, added tracking info (which should have released the money sept 9th)

6) sept 9th arrives money still shows hold until sept 24th

7) call paypal, talk to supervisor whom doesnt really explain to me why but that money is held until one i receive positive feedback and two until paypal can call the buyer and verify satisfaction???? Paypal rep said they would call me in the morning once they have had a chance to speak to buyer. OK???

8) call different paypal rep, finally get an explanation as I thought I had followed all the rules, she explains that because the paypal account was created sept 8th, the payment received in the paypal account is dated sept 8th, and so upon first glance it would have appeared that I shipped the item before the payment was received but upon further talking to me and looking at the ebay transaction it was merely that the original supervisor failed to properly look into the hold that was placed. This paypal rep immediately released all the funds.

So what I gather is that it is a bad idea to create the paypal account post ebay sale...Which I guess I should have figured, so it appears to be my own fault however it seems to have worked out well.

uhh....thats a dangerous idea...
The ebay and paypal account should be a pigeon pair and created together...

but yes, your account is too new for one, so its probably a safety measure to cover their arses.

And since you have called, they are now fully aware of the hold and still might do the 21 day hold (sometimes longer)

Most here are saying to create a paypal before you create ebay and use it for buying activity. Some say they do it months before they link it to an ebay account.
