Default Second chance offers are OKAY by EBAY

Ok...i was wondering whether it is a good idea to take advantage of the second chance offer...not abuse it but just use it even when the original buyer pays. Im not trying to rip anyone off its just that i have more of the item for sale and fact that they bid is an indication of interest and it kills more birds with one stone. Now im not accepting paypal so its not like ebay will know i got payment for both items...until i get positive feedback from both (which im sure i will). Should i go for it or do you think this will result in a suspension...even if i did get positive feedback. (I already know sending too many second chance offer can hit a cue).

I used to do that quite often, with no problems at all from Ebay.
When I tried it in more recent times, buyers just seemed a bit more cautious of it. I guess they just want to be certain that they are getting the same item shown.

As a buyer, I even took advantage of the second chance offer once and it worked out just fine. I even paid less that the winning bidder!

It is OK. I did this always when I had similar items. Only about 1 in 5 bought that way, but it was no problem for EB/PP.

Thanks for clarifying...i didnt know ebay actually approved of it to be used that way i thought it was only in the event of a non paying buyer then the second highest bidder has a 'second chance'. Interesting.

----
I stopped using it that way because i got suspended twice before but that was a little while ago, like you said when there use to be higher fraud problems related to using it.

This is good to know, I'm going to use the second chance offer because I sell many of the same item all the time. Cool.

hmm second chance offer maybe is not good when selling vero. I have already sold 2 items successfully i sent a second chance offer and very quickly all of the same items were pulled (they did leave other kinds up). Maybe i brought too much attention to myself.

Gotta love ol' faithful pre nov accounts. Get a licking but keep on ticking.

What divine said.

With VeRO, second chance offers arent a good thing. But Ive yet to test this extensively, as another account of mine that sold without a second chance offer also got taken down at the same time. Damned Random eBay!

HI Guys--My Personal experience has been,,
a.) with newer accts + low fb--it has lead or contributed to suspension for abusing.
b.) I have a 2 month old acct-with over 200 fb, that has issued as many as 30 second chances in 1 day- with no probs..

when i sell 1 thing at a good price, if i have more i usually message the buyer to see if there interested then send them the SCO if there interested. sometimes i offer free postage as an incentive. 7/10 it works and its a good way to clear stock at a price your happy with.
