Default Can Amazon see what non amazon website i have visited

Hi All,

Does anyone know if amazon can see and non amazon sites i have visited with their super cookie thing?

e.g. if i look at this forum will amazon know from this cookie they have on my computer?
If i sign up for a new gmail email will amazon be able to see this in my internet history and know the email address?

At the moment, amazon do not see such activity.

Haha, you never know what information people are getting from my computer these days. I did a fair bit of reading on these java cookies and it seems in the right hands they can access anything. However i thought it would be going a bit far for a multinational company to be invading peoples privacy like that.

Good point - that`s why if too worrisome, keep things on different computers. Prices these days allow for that - IF too worrisome

Don't write this off as being paranoid. YES they can. As a matter of face, the admin on this site probably can to.

Most web hosting companies have detailed analytics of where their visitors came from, and go after they leave.

We all have proof that Amazon's system is very advanced. Visit a product on Amazon and mysteriously you get emails, and ads targeted at the product.

I wouldn't be suprised if Amazon is limiting all of these accounts because they have indication that we visit THIS website LOL
