Hi
I am selling phones and laptops on eBay and have over 500 feedbacks with a 100% rating.
In the past few days, a couple of buyers wanted to purchase in bulk and I suggested google checkout which they were happy with.
Yesterday, I received this mail from google checkout compliance:
Hello,
As you may know from your existing banking relationships, European law
requires that payments providers take steps to verify the identities of
their customers. Google has designed procedures to comply with those
requirements while protecting and respecting the confidentiality of your
personal information.
In order to verify your account, we require additional information about
your business that was not requested during the sign-up process.
For more information, and to learn how to verify your account information,
please visit
https://checkout.google.com/support/...in/request.py?....
After we have received all of the requested documentation, you will be
contacted within two to three business days.
Whilst you can still accept and charge new orders at this time, you must
provide us with the requested information in order to receive future
payments. Per FSA regulations and industry standards, failure to submit
the requested documentation may delay your payments.
Fair enough. I provided all the information. Then received this email from them:
Hello,
Thank you for returning our information request form. We would like to
confirm that your account is fully active and that your payouts have been
resumed. Please be aware that it may take 3-5 working days to reach your
bank account. Check directly with your bank for further details
Keep in mind that we may request additional information from you to comply
with law and industry standards if your account status changes.
Kind regards,
The Google Checkout Team
A few hours later, I received this:
Hello,
In order for us to verify your account, we need additional information
about your business that wasn't requested during the signup process.
Please see this help center article for more information on this process:

Though you can still accept and charge new orders at this time, you'll
need to verify your account in order to continue processing transactions
through Google. Failure to submit the required documentation can result in
delayed payouts, refunded orders, or account suspension. We'll email you
again once we've received and verified your information.
If you have any additional questions, feel free to reply to this email.
Sincerely.
It basically asked me for my id documents, professional license etc. I know it was because I didn't have a link for my website, I do now (linking to my ebay member info page). So I only attached my address proof and sent an explanation regarding not having a website and using my ebay member page instead.
Then, I received this:
Hello ,
Thanks for your email.
During a recent review of your account, we found that one or more products
or services for which you requested payment via a Google Checkout invoice
appear to violate the following Google Checkout content policies:
-------------------------------
Unacceptable product category: Copyright Unlocking Devices & Techniques
-------------------------------
To avoid having your account suspended, please respond to this message
within seven days and ensure that you do not use Google Checkout for
products considered unacceptable under our content policies.
Please visit

more information about our content policies.
If you have additional questions, please visit our Help Center at

Kind regards,
The Google Checkout Team
I've already emailed them back stating I was unaware of this rule and I will not be repeating this in the future and that I'll also be keeping abreast of the content policy to make sure I know if and when it gets updated.
My checkout account is fine. It's not suspended (how would I know it's suspended ?). I see the money in the payout tab.
What happens now ? Will I be paidout or will be money be refunded ? Or was it just a warning from GCO to not repeat the mistake again which I definitely won't.
Would really appreciate some input and guidance here.
Thanks.
