Default Chinese account suspended within 24 hours

Just a heads up for you.

New Chinese account with all stealth info done correctly suspended within 24 hours.

Listed a none Vero simple cheap none electronic item as a buy it now and the same as an auction.

Listed item location as in the UK as there in the UK.

Account received permanent suspension.

Lessons to learn?

Next time i will try not listing an item the same day an account is made.

But in truth i cant see why this is an issue, never is on uk accounts for me.

Any feedback?

Thanks

May be he used VPN, let see what he said.
Other info that might help is how exactly did you set up you account.

For this one i used a fresh Chinese IP, I used all chinese details for account and created the account on eBay HK.

I then listed the item on ebay UK and set item location set as UK in the listing.

I wanted to try this way as i wanted to see what ebay would think of a "honest" listing. In reality there was nothing dodgy about the way i did this.

Just as a side note logging into a UK account from China using a VPN using UK info works for ebay but not paypal. They dont like the VPN.

Thanks for the replies

Hi just to simplify.

A Chinese ebay account, Chinese paypal account. All sound info and account creation methods used.

Listed from a Chinese IP (as account owner is Chinese right)

Where is the messy bit?

Thanks

I thought you had to sell 5 items in China before you can list elsewhere.

I have tried setting up Chinese accounts and they always tell me I must sell 5 things here before I can sell overseas.

Did you not get that same message?

It let me list 2 items on the .co.uk site. One as bin and one auction.

No error message or anything like that.

Live chat tells me account is suspended indefinitely and obviously wont tell me why.

Im trying another method at the moment or perhaps banging my head against a brick wall - one of the two.

Don't worry about the item location. I used HK EB and PP and my items was in the US. EB won't suspect too much about this unless you mis-spell your item location. Item in different country is fine because in HK, there're many user using "storage-aboard" shipping service.

I think you don't need to sell 5 items in China before you sell internationally.

OP appears to have attempted to bypass that by using UK as location.

tripped the bots as the program is likely 'set' to stop accounts with a Chinese IP trying to avoid ebay listing requirements.
Imagine overseas markets getting flooded by Chinese sellers ????????

It would put everyone out of business forever more!

Also, the chinese getting the factory prices, their margins would be RIDICULOUS!

After many long conversations with eB about this it would seem that off the record they dont want Chinese sellers using the site.

That appears to be the bottom line.

I would assume that over time they will find ways to phase the rest of them off as this is the "impression" i got.

Kind of pointless though as any serious Chinese seller now is using a uk drop ship warehouse and string of uk stealth accounts so if anything its just going to create a monopoly for those who know how to cheat the system meaning even cheaper pricing ala Tesco.

There IS one thing in your post that I object to.

I have no problem with Chinese sellers, I have bought many things on eBay from people in China.

HOWEVER...

The shipping from China can take 10-14 days and there are times when I need the item faster than that. When that is the case, I check the box for US SELLERS ONLY. Not out of any animosity for anyone outside the US, but because I need the item in 2-4 days.

If you are listing an item location in the UK and shipping from Chna, that IS a problem! Of course, if your merchandise really IS in the UK, then I have no probem with that.

Yes my stock is in the UK.

I think a lot of native Chinese sellers do this now too.

Thanks

I can understand your viewpoint but in regards to eCommerce this is the way i feel it will go.

In the not too distant future we will all be ordering direct from the far east via the web and getting stuff delivered by air within 72 hours. As the customer requires lower and lower purchase costs the industries will have to adapt by cutting out as much fat as possible, this is just a natural progression.

Those goods which require quicker shipping will be pre-shipped to holding warehouses in each country then shipped on to the end users after each transaction.

Some factories i visit now have sales pits of 50+ $300 a month staff sat on eB, they are clearly serious about it.

Yes it really makes it unfair when Chinese sellers sell on eB in other sales territories and undercut you but what are you going to do? complain about it? or try find a way to level the playing field? that's why i moved here.

Cass is right. More and more, borders are meaningless. Soon, we will be one world - or at least several major nations will be like one world.

The internet has changed everything. Several industries have felt pain.

Travel agents are pretty much gone. Newspapers are on the the ropes. Bookstores are going fast. Blockbuster has closed. The music industry has all but collapsed. It is just a matter of time before anything that can be delivered digitally (news, books, magazines, music, movies) will ONLY be delivered digitally.

The days of the Postal Service, DVD's, Cable Companies and more are numbered.

But take heart, It has always been this way. Old industries die and new ones take their place.

My mother used to tell me about the Ice Man, who delivered ice house to house every few days so that people could keep their food cold. She would shop at the butcher shop, the fish store, the canned goods store, etc. Now, they are all under one roof.

At one time, more than 50% of American adults smoked cigarettes. The milkman used to deliver milk, ice cream and other dairy products. The music scene was much more localized. Rich people flew on airplanes, the rest of us had to make do with buses and trains.

All of these things caused much distress for a lot of people. Yet, most people today still find a way to make a living. We humans will adapt. We may adapt GRUDGINGLY, but we WILL adapt.

Laws to prohibit Chinese sellers from selling in the US are not the answer. Markets have a way of evening things out. Capital flows where it wants to flow. Legislation restricting change never works over the long term.

Just ask the movie studios. They tried to stop the introduction of the VCR into people's homes. They lost. Gas companies tried to stop electricity. That didn't work. I'm sure the newspaper industry would be very happy if the internet would just disappear - but that will not happen either.

Things change. They always have and they always will.

Naw that's too harsh - they just have to be real about the items and location - no treachery
