Default Buyer dispute not decided, but PP has taken the $$?

OK-so, I sold a very pricey item (over $2500) in November. Buyer recieved, left positive feedback, and now, 3 weeks later, has decided "item is not as described".

So, the case has been escalated to eBay, n decision yet, and I buy an item for less than $10 on eBay. I go to pay, and PP has the over $2500 in hold in my account. A TEMPORARY HOLD.

However, it won't let me pay for my $10 item unless I charge the >$2500 to my charge card! I don;t want to pay this amount to PP as I do not want to close the eBay case and credit the buyer......what can I do? HELP!

That's the deal with p/p, it's what you signed up for whether you like it or not.

Hopefully, you have all of your ducks in a row.
The money will be held until the case is resolved.
you can get money in, but spending will be an issue as pp will feel that they could use it to recoup losses should you try to flee.
Try and get your item back?

Wait for others to give their advice.

You have to wait until the case is decided before you are no longer negative or that -$2500 is permanent. With Paypal you are guilty until proven innocent.

If you want to pay that $10 item, try signing out of paypal and paying as a guest with a credit card that is not attached to a Paypal account.

Hardly worth the risk of doing a guest payment. paypal likes to limits these too.

OP might end up with even more troubles for the sake of $10

True. Plus that credit card becomes guest linked and becomes no good for stealth

Thanks all-I actually managed to search and find a phone number for eBay. I called them, spoke with a real person, and had this straightened out in a matter of minutes. Case decided in my favor, and negative balance removed. Not sure it would have gone this way had I not been proactive and called them.
