Strange Paypal story & happy ending
Normally I just read & do not even logon here. But when I have trouble I always sign in. This forum has saved me more than once - so first I want to say thank you!
But as my way of giving back - I also want to tell you what happened to me regarding Paypal.
I have had an account for 5 years. Selling consistently - most expensive stuff approx $50.00 most approx $14.00. Have had minor issues with eBay Vero on a few items - a nasty competitor reports things once in a while. No big deal. Then 5 days ago, out of the blue, I get a message from Paypal saying:
We are hereby notifying you that, after a recent review of your account
activity, it has been determined that you are in violation of PayPal's
Acceptable Use Policy regarding your sales / offers of unauthorized copies…Therefore, your account has been permanently limited.
I immediately list my store as on vacation - since I have no way to get paid. I have an iOffer account that is also screwed & I put up my vacation notice there also. I come hear to look up what you guys say to do. I was not worried about the money that was there - as it was only $200.00. But to start a new account & relist everything will take weeks at best & with the Holidays I am damned. I decide not to panic - wait until at least Christmas passes to figure out what to do. Besides almost everything I read from here says just forget it when it comes to Paypal.
Then tonight I get an email from Paypal saying my account has been restored. Here are the exact words:
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding the recent limitation of your
PayPal account.
We have further reviewed your case and determined that your account is
currently not in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy. As such, the
limitation on your account has been lifted.
I did not contact Paypal - as I said, I did nothing. I do not know what the heck happened - but I immediately took out my money.
I am not questioning it - I am just considering this my Christmas present.
Anyway I thought you all should know about this.
