I was sure in pp you could print out a data sheet of your transactions...I cant go into pp on this computer/user account but maybe I can pull up the link later. Sorry.
from what i've been doing which I hope is right is go to history - reports - monthly sales report then starting from january add up all your payments received before paypal fees are taken out.

Yes, I do. The "sales report" is gross dollars coming in and the figure that is used for calculating the 1099. Add all 12 months up and it should match the figure on the 1099.
FYI, PayPal policy updates state individual accounts will receive their 1099 electronically, while business accounts (EIN) will receive their 1099 in the mail.
