Default Interesting paypal call

So I had some issue with my paypal account about sending money, and I ended up calling paypal. Of course, they were nice and friendly as always, but what struck me as odd was that the agent asked how I was accessing paypal (he said "mobile, laptop or what?" and what browser I was using ("out of curiosity, what browser are you using?").

Do you think this is for verification purposes or are they catching on to stealth tactics?

not sure if it's because I clear my flash cookies every time I close my browser...

Could be a mixture of both ID purposes as well as common/known paypal glitches with certain browsers.

Clearing your cookies on an account causes the bots to get a little wonky and wanting to inspect your account further.

Don't forget - sometimes agents ask these non-related questions just to give them time to pull up scripts and prepare for conversation. Standard stall tactics instead of placing you on hold while they pull up your account info. Nothing too harmful about it.

No, he just needed to get the full picture of how you access the system since you were reporting some kind of bug.

Right, but this was before he put me on hold, and my first call about this stealth account. I've had to do the same with another when I get blocked from sending money because "I have to add funds first", and the agent asked me the same exact questions!

I'm just paranoid that they see that I clear my cookies every time I close the browser, but what if I just want my privacy?

It's probably also part of the script, you have to remember that Ebay/Paypal are constantly trying to get an edge and probably also trying to bust us in the process.
