Default Withdrawal to bank account reversed after completed

Once again I have to deal with an idiot buyer. He opened a case because I did not ship the item on MONDAY, which is a holiday, so he opened an item never received case.

I transferred the money on Monday morning, and usually around 24 hours later with Greendot it will show as completed. I never checked to see if it was completed, but I'm assuming it was. Although, my Paypal account does not show a negative balance, it shows as reversed, and I received an email stating my withdrawal was reversed.

This all happened about 8 hours after it should have been completed. Also, Paypal stated in the email they sent me that the withdrawal was made on the 21st, and so was the reversal; even though the reversal was done on the 22nd in the evening!!

This is exactly why I keep several hundred in my accounts to cover any eBay fees and charge backs. If you don't it is a disaster waiting to happen because if they do this and you have mismatching names on an account your Paypal could be toast.

I really don't want to have to pay for this, though, considering I already shipped the product!! I'd rather just receive my money and toss the Paypal account, considering sellers always get screwed over in these types of situations.

It depends. I have had good luck with eBay and Paypal lately. However, I have learned to take the appropriate actions to build trust and good standing with them. When you fly by the night to get a few bucks withdrawal in say whatever. PayPal does not care about the person who sells one item here and there. They are more interested in the people who are long term customers and they can associate as low risk by their prior actions. Withdrawing all your funds as soon as you get them, you better have a long history and good standing with them. Because they see it as high-risk activity. Take the money and run.

Sounds like the buyer had some regrets and changed their mind last min, putting up this hissy fit hoping they can get away with it and not pay for it. Id keep this mind and do what you can. If you can recall the package, recall it back to you and issue a refund. Or simply send an email letting the buyer know he can return it minus any shipping charges as long as the item is still sealed. Id do the ladder. Paypal wont side with him once they see it was a hoilday monday and that you shipped it out tuesday, and that the guy doesnt even have it yet....

Apart from telling us here about this drama, what have you done to contact the buyer?

I have nothing of your attempts to deal with the buyer to see if you can sort the issues.

Many buyers are not smart enough to know it was a holiday and many are not smart enough to know that the PO does not ship on Sunday.

I get these PITAs all the time.

Communication is important!!

I think ebay is a big contributor to this problem.

The algorithms they use for estimating shipping were apparently designed by third graders. For instance, I noticed when I set an item to 1-day handling time, I get some orders that come in say 11PM on Monday. Well according to ebay, this means the order has to ship out on Tuesday. Total idiocy. An order coming in after 5PM LOCAL time has to be considered as booked the following BUSINESS day. So 1-day handling for an order booked on Tuesday means it goes out Wednesday. It gets even worse for orders coming in late Friday where Monday is a holiday. I`ve been burnt by this more than I can count.

One thing I will say is Amazon handles this shipping estimation correctly. There is a huge difference in the professionalism of the design of the two sites. ebay tries to be like Amazon but they fail in alot of ways.

Sandy D is 100% spot on. I had a request on evening for a return that I didn't have a chance to replay, it was holidays for crying out loud! and sunday mid day I got an email that dispute was opened through PP.
As Sandy D said our average customer is a dumb ass. But when it comes to getting the money back they get creative!

I did not say dumb ass.

Oh yea, they are stupid but when it comes time to rip you off they get smart real quick.

"professional buyer" I call them really work the system for a freebie.

Might as well call them ebay welfare queens as they truly believe you should give them the item, pay the shipping and refund their money too.

Like the idiot who told me she wanted to return something because the color did not match here decor.

R U kidding me? What the heck am I a rental design company?
