Default All my new paypal accounts are getting 21 day hold after each sale OUTSIDE EBAY!

Every new stealth ebay account i make seems fine until i make my first sale on EBID.com! NOT Ebay! I don't use Ebay its too much of a pain in the ass for me.

As soon as i make a sale big or small i receive an email from paypal telling me about a 21 day hold on my funds, is anybody else getting this? Is there a way around it?

I'm in Canada by the way.

Thanks ahead of time for any help on this

BTW - HERE IS THE EMAIL FROM PAYPAL:

Because you are a new PayPal seller, money from payments you receive will be placed in your pending balance for up to 21 days. Delaying access to payments helps us make sure that new sellers have enough money in their account to cover claims or refunds.

Even though you can't access the money right away, please ship orders quickly and communicate with your buyers. As long as there are no problems with the order, you’ll be able to withdraw the money within 21 days.

If you process the order quickly and mark the order as processed on the Transaction Details page, the money may be available sooner. After you process the order, we'll calculate the expected delivery date and release the payment 7 days after that date. We'll also contact the buyer with the shipping details and ask them to let us know when they receive their order.

Log in to your PayPal account and go to your Transaction details page for more information about funds availability.

Complete 5 transactions without any buyer disputes, claims or returns.
Receive at least 150.00 USD in payments for goods and services.
Wait 60 days from the date you receive your first payment.

After you've completed these steps, your money will be available sooner.

Nothing new. paypal started this with off ebay transactions nearly 15 months back

this email is newish. they actually are letting you know how to resolve the issue.

Because your account is new, paypal does not trust you. Make them trust you & you may have less issues.

No need to fret, common practice now.

So it is:

Complete 5 transactions
OR
Have $150 in sales
OR
Wait 60 days after first payment received

Then the holds are removed? That is strange!

Op was this a totally fresh account? Did you let it age? Did you get some eBay feedback first?

My answer to all of the above is yes and I have no problems

I sell items on CL often and ship them and was taking paypal.

Never a hold for a long time.

Recently got a few here and there but not all the time.

Try to avoid that as an absolute. One of ours went 7 items. Was a deliberate test.

Where off ebay transactions were much 'easier', paypal forced their strict conditions on users because so many tried to use the services off ebay to bypass fees etc.

A new paypal account needs that trust issue resolved even more quickly now.

My accounts were made and sat for a month or 2 before making a first transaction of only $70 from ebid.com - I have heard of this happening randomly to others in the past but it happens to every account i make now. I was just wondering if everyone was getting these restrictions now or just some bad luck for me?

Thanks for all the replies!

As of this moment, 96% of people I've been speaking to have had issues with the off ebay transactions.

Just a heads up from some testing I did.

Proves pp is totally lost.

Sold an item across country I listed on CL, had buyer sent payment (75.00) to a 3 year old pp that does not have any holds and eb attached has no limits etc.

What do they do?

Hold the money.

Sold an item across country I listed on CL, had buyer send (60.00) to a 45 day old pp and what do they do? No holds.

Simply amazing how they do things.

I noticed when I take payments for services, there is never a hold, whether it's a new account or old.

I know all these holds and what not suck. But rather than bitching might as well just be thankful many of us have even found a way to stay on Paypal and for many of us eBay. I hate dealing with this stuff as much as everyone else but if it wasn't for stealth and the knowledge I have learned from other folks the game would be over for me. Just glad I can still sell even as ridiculous some of this stuff gets people bitching almost are always griping about their new account and how they can't do anything, and if you haven't used an account in years guess what. In life what have you done for me lately? ; nobody cares about the back in the day stuff. You have to pay your dues to get in good standing and maintain good standing. Ya'll can bitch about it all you want but Paypal isn't changing. Learn to deal with it or walk away from this.

@OP, pretty standard that pp places holds outside eB sales too - can depend on what you are selling and risk involved. Dont be annoyed with it - ship, put in tracking info and wait for account rep to become stronger

I have tested all of the payment types, added messages, no messages etc testing to see if there is a concrete way.

There is none.

At least in my testing you can use services one time and the next time a hold shows up.

I tested this on new accounts and old accounts 5 years old. Tested it on pp only accounts as well.

Typical of pp to just toss a dart and hope it sticks.
