Immediate 21 day hold on new Paypal Account?
Never had this happen before when setting up a paypal account. I invoiced and took in one payment of $36 and get this email, see below. Is this the way it is now on new accounts?
An important message about your PayPal balance
Hello XX,
Because you are a new PayPal seller, money from payments you receive will be placed in your pending balance for up to 21 days. Delaying access to payments helps us make sure that new sellers have enough money in their account to cover claims or refunds.
Even though you can't access the money right away, please ship orders quickly and communicate with your buyers. As long as there are no problems with the order, you’ll be able to withdraw the money within 21 days.
If you process the order quickly and mark the order as processed on the Transaction Details page, the money may be available sooner. After you process the order, we'll calculate the expected delivery date and release the payment 7 days after that date. We'll also contact the buyer with the shipping details and ask them to let us know when they receive their order.
Log in to your PayPal account and go to your Transaction details page for more information about funds availability.
You're considered a new seller until you confirm your identity and
• Complete 10 transactions without any buyer disputes, claims or returns.
• Receive at least 250.00 USD in payments for goods and services.
• Wait 60 days from the date you receive your first payment.
After you've completed these steps, your money will be available sooner.
For more information about funds availability, log in to your account and go to the Resolution Center.
