Default Need helping choosing a PC

Hey guys,

I'm currently in the process of looking for a new computer to run my amazon accounts. I would appreciate any input on what to look for or buy. My last computer was very slow and I could barely run vmware, excel and chrome without lagging at the speed of a turtle. So it suffice to say I want my new pc to be fast, powerful and reasonably affordable($300-$500). In addition, I was also thinking of a laptop but given the circumstance of running multiple account and constantly changing my mac address, I don't see the point of having one if moving around is not an option.
Please help me decide, I'll appreciate any helpful response.

Me too

I'm ordering a new laptop in the next 10 days.

Windows (No Macs please), min 500GB, min 8GB ramm, 15", NO gaming, rarely leaves my desk, and priced up to $2,000.00

I currently have HP and love it.

You can run multiple amazon accounts as I do from a £100 pc. I don't and have never used vm ware.

I use a seperate windows user for each account
Mac addresses can't be read so all you need to worry about is the ip.

Many people on here in my modest opinion go way too far in trying not to be linked. several forum members use this method without any problem.

Any pc is better than mines. I'm still on Windows Vista. I'm just now working on my custom pc. If you were to flat out purchase it, it would cost more than $3,000 not including tax. It's been a long time waiting, but now I'm ready for the upgrade.

I will suggest getting a computer with a good "cpu" for your needs.

im quite lucky as I have a dynamic ip. All i need to do is plug my router out and i have a new one. There are ways to change it that are much easier than the hoops many people on here are jumping through

Are you saying that you don't even have to change the Mac address on the computer you are using? for each login you do not need a separate mac address?

Yeah, as above. I and many others have used this method for years with no problem. Technically you dont even need to change the user account but this makes it a bit easier and less time consuming in the long run. If amazon could see the mac address then I and many others would be banned. I know for a fact that they cant, but if they could how come so many who people dont bother with it operate with no problems.

Well I think I've seen the light and will start doing that. Opening up Vmware and going between accounts takes too long

Amazon Stealth is a great resource but it got it wrong about the mac address. That one line was the cause of so much frustration when I was starting out.

I have researched this over and over again and all of the professionals say that a website would not be able to track your mac address unless 1) they hack you 2) you are based in the same building as amazon or 3) you download an applet that gives them permission to get this info. there really is no other way.

Well they hacked my computer. They were able to tel that I had an identical password for an email account. Within 20 minutes of changing my email account password to the same password as Amazon they sent an email within 20 minutes saying I need to change my AZ password because it was the same as another non AZ account on my computer. People here say I'm making it up but it happened. Maybe that's why I a paranoid and take the extra step.

"3) you download an applet that gives them permission to get this info. there really is no other way. "

I had a Hotmail account that automatically opens these applets. I use Gmail now and turn the auto open off.

That guide is almost 2 years old, thats why Aspkin created this forum for updates. Otherwise he would get nothing done with daily/weekly changes.

Forget all that Mac address crap, I never followed it. Have over 20+ Stealths no problems.

Make sure you set up different User accounts with Windows, Different IP log in, and no linking.

Awesome facts here. I never knew I didn't need vmware, that software is such a pain. It takes forever to create a new vmware and opening takes time as well. Needless to say this is what I gathered from all of you:

1) A PC with a high CPU will suffice for amazon
2) Using Gmail or any provider that doesn't open up applets will protect my accounts from linking(note: Hotmail is not one of them)
3)Create a new windows account for every amazon account because amazon cannot see your computer's mac address unless your in the same building as them, they hack you or you download an applet that gives them permission.

Still, I'm left wondering if amazon can't see your computer's mac address, can they still see your router's mac address or do I have to change that as well.

The only thing I've ever changed with regards to my Internet connection is my ip and I've had no problems.
