Default Odd MC999?

Just wanted to share my experience with one of my recent stealth accounts getting the MC999. I opened an account all stealth and all verified. Waited a few weeks and listed (off all things) a bookmark for a penny auction. Within the next 4 hours not only did I get a message that my listings were removed twice. I was also suspended twice. As in I got two emails and two MC999 security concerns messages in my eBay account.

So I called eBay ready and prepared and the lady I talked to simply asked to call my number on file. She did and she said that she doesn't have any idea why my account was suspended and that she would send in an appeal for me. She said she didn't want to give false information to me about why it was suspended and that she honestly does not know. There is also no message as to why I was suspended in My eBay section either other than the standard MC999 security concerns message. It's like its being ran by monkeys (which it pretty much is) haha.

This doesn't bother me as I have plenty of other stealth accounts that are fine. I just found this odd and thought I would share. I know the account is pretty much a lost cause but what do you guys think? Anyone ever had anything similar?

yeah, it has happened to me a few times.
Usually means that they have linked you in multiple ways (previously used address or IP by someone else, not necessarily you)

And the fact that it cannot be lifted by the basic rep means that it might have been pretty recent that the previous info was suspended.

Right, The reason I find this odd is because usually if something like that comes up I will get the ban-hammer within a day of creating the account. This account was however almost a month old.

The rep did say that for some reason she couldn't lift it. When I asked why she said "it isn't letting me" and she said she would send in an appeal because she saw no reason for it to be suspended.

BTW it was the Utah call center that I got a hold of. They usually seem to be the most helpful (in my personal experience) at getting accounts reinstated.

They dont like it when you sell items that seems risky to them.

I wouldn't consider a paper bookmark that is set at a penny is risky at all. I may be wrong but none of my other accounts have had an issue. lol

That might have done you in though.
They might see that as feedback manipulation.

Some accounts get away with it, some don't.

Safer to stay above the dollar range to help avoid that.

So your very first item was listed for 0.99?

If so, flag has been already set on the account.

They are watching new accounts like never before and listing new, risky, 0.01 up to 0.99 items will be caught and looked at.

They cross reference a new account with a 0.99 cent item and down it goes.

I didn't set any kind of buy it now or anything on the account. It was an auction that started at a penny.

UPDATE: I just got an email and my account has been reinstated. That is really strange.
