How Much Does Paypal PreAuthorize?

When adding a debit card to Paypal, what's the minimum amount that has to be on the card? I'm sure Paypal pre-authorizes a small amount.

In the US, it is $1.95. Once you confirm the code, the amount will go to your pp account.

No, this is the amount it cost to VERIFY your card (if you choose to), not to add it to your PayPal account.

$1.00 is how much they pre-authorize when just adding a card. To verify they actually charge you the $1.95.

Ive been experiencing lately that Paypal has not been charging my Vanilla Visas but still verifying the CC portion on the Paypal Account.

Standard rule of PREAUTHORIZATION is $1.00 as per industry guidelines. I have seen a few companies charge 1 cent...quite laughable.
