Default Closing eBay Seller Account

I recently got a category restriction. Ive had this account for 5 years, was top rated, power seller, 99.5% positive feedback. But i want to sell on that category but they wont remove the restriction.

This is my real account.

If i close my seller account (not my eBay account - just my seller) will the restrictions come back on if i decide to reopen my seller account later on?

Why was it restricted?

Have you looked through the stealth guide?

Can't you just list in a similar category?

Never ever close an account for any reason.

Always fight to keep an account going.

ebay/paypal kill accounts. Never the seller.

Consider all your options.

As last3379 suggested, look at selling in a similar category.

Not always the best idea. What does your account status say in the seller dashboard. If you have policy violations they can take up to 90 days to go away. Selling the same items that got removed could result in indefinite suspension.

Closing your seller's account

If you want to keep your eBay account but no longer want to sell items, you can deactivate your seller account. You'll still be able to bid and make purchases, but if you later want to sell items, you'll have some restrictions.

To deactivate your seller account, remove your payment information for your credit or debit card or bank account. On your seller account page, if you want to remove all your payment methods, select the All payment methods option, and then click the Remove button.

You may continue to accrue fees for any listings you have on the site, as well as monthly fees if you have any active subscriptions such as eBay Stores. Make sure you cancel any subscriptions.

If you have any outstanding balances, please make a one-time payment before you close your seller account. Learn more about making a one-time payment. If you've still got a credit in the account, request a refund.

Yeah, that means you are stopping selling.

You are also removing from that account the ability to sell.

So, in say 9 months time, if you decide to sell, you are back to the base line again. You have to re-earn trust.

Is this what you want? Have you told us why?

PM me if it is confidential
