Default Paypal & Wamu- Anyone Give Paypal Your Wamu Login Info?

I think this is a rhetorical question, but when I listed WAMU as my bank to get my paypal account verified paypal said- give us your login info to verify your account INSTANTLY.

I don't think so! I used my real name to open my wamu account- I am SO not giving PAYPAL the keys to the kingdom.

ANy thoughts? am I just too paranoid?

There are a couple of posts about BOFA users doing that without problems. Bottom line is
that is your choice. BOFA has worked OK for aspkin doing this.

At the time, I think I was in a hurry. But sure there is 100% no risk involved in doing this. Do you think Paypal is going around messing with people's banking accounts? It's an automated system that verifies your account and that's it. Have you heard of Mint.com? They do the same thing but your information is stored in their system... they check your account often too. I use mint as well. And I know tons of people who use it too.

Maybe I'm just asking for trouble. But I believe the risk is very low. Buying and selling on eBay has much more risk.

Trust me.... It's Fine.

I think the Mint.com site is for organizing all your online finances.

HI: others have posted about Paypal offering instant verification-- I still use the 2-3 days to get the 2 small deposits, then enter them manually..

I just verified 2 paypal accounts that way. It said that the info was done through a third party and that the info was not stored anywhere. It was nice not to have to wait 3 days, hopefully it doesn't backfire on me but it seemed to be safe to do.

Ive used the instant WaMu verification process plenty of times with the bank account holder's name banned from ebay/paypal..

Never had any problems for past year or so using that process.

you should be 99.99% in the clear

So ones they login there.. They don't see the real bank name of the person? And ones you do that do you change the password just in case ? Its just If they login get your real name .. or it is all done automatically and your real identity is safe ?
